'THE HIPPY GOURMET' TELEVISION COOKING SERIES ANNOUNCES THE COMPLETION OF ITS 26th EPISODE, OR FIRST SEASON FINALE

San Francisco, CA (Haight-Ashbury District) -- (PRnetwire.com) -- July 30, 2002 -- The Hippy Gourmet is a thirty-minute, weekly television cooking series set against the backdrop of San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district, which is commonly regarded as the heart of Hippie lifestyle and culture. "We are just so happy to be producing this show, fresh each week from such a great city," says James Ehrlich, the Hippy Gourmet's Executive Producer and Director.  He continues, "What started as a way for close friends to share a delicious meal every week, is becoming a show that people are interested in around the country and the world."

The show is based primarily in the kitchen and garden of The Hippy Gourmet's host, Bruce Brennan, who is an original Hippie and one time chef to rock and roll and movie stars.  "This show is all about following me and my friends around as we do what we normally do, which is make great meals, often using our organic garden produce, and then eating them," says Mr. Brennan, commenting on the documentary-style filming of the series.  He continues, "I know we're onto something really big here, because our focus is more than just on the quality and simplicity of the food we prepare, but on our taking interest in subjects that make sense for humanity to sustain itself."

The Hippy Gourmet also features Manny the Hippy, recognized for his multiple creative appearances on Late Night with David Letterman. "Dude, this show rocks, ok?"  Says Micah Papp (a.k.a Manny the Hippy).  He continues, "No seriously, we have a cool show, people dig us and we're keeping it very real -- especially when we cook out at some really beautiful locations, and feature my most excellent vintage 1964 Volkswagen microbus."

The producers of The Hippy Gourmet are in discussion with broadcasters and distributors to take the show nationally starting this fall. Also in the works is a compendium cookbook.


About the Hippy Gourmet

The Hippy Gourmet Television series began in October of 2001, starting as a public cable program in the San Francisco Bay area. Each episode typically features three (3) recipes, with other segments featuring non-profit organizations, musicians, artists and the natural surroundings, as the Hippy Gourmet often cooks outdoors.
