Soundrangers Designs the Sound for new Harry Potter PC Game, Prisoner of Azkaban

Innovative sound company chosen to develop sound for the new Harry Potter video
game

SEATTLE, WA - May 5, 2004  /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Soundrangers

audio expertise, was chosen to do the sound design for the newest Harry Potter
game, "Prisoner of Azkaban." Specializing in creating sound for interactive

experience that the game's developer, KnowWonder, was looking for to engage in
the latest installment of the Harry Potter video game series.

Developing sound for the Harry Potter game required a balanced blend of
creativity and technical know-how. Utilizing Epic's Unreal engine, the sound
environment was created using a mix of custom sound design work and effects from
Soundrangers' original library of material to capture the essence of the Potter
universe.

Creatures, environmental ambience and magic were all developed using the J.K.
Rowling book as a guideline while working within the confines of the interactive
gaming environment. Production took place at the Soundrangers headquarters in
Seattle where the majority of sound effects were created from scratch and
implemented using the Unreal technology.
