DETROIT, MI - July 6, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- The Michigan Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America has entered into an alliance with Snytco Inc., a Livonia based public relations and marketing firm, for the support and development of Michigan Construction News (MCN), a web site serving Michigan’s construction industry.

Developed by Snytco Inc. and launched last November, MCN provides news, commentary, and other informative resources about construction activity in the state.  The site is refreshed twice a week, with each update providing from eight to fifteen newly published news accounts, as well as another installment of Dragline, an analysis and opinion column.  There’s also an extensive Coming Events column, archives of previously published stories, and a listing of more than 80 links to construction industry web sites.

Being planned are the additions of departments to create a library of documents covering best management practices, construction safety programs, and technical information; a second library of construction industry periodicals; an archive of construction photographs and video clips; a gallery of completed construction projects; and a listing of Michigan projects that currently are under construction. 

"The idea is to make Michigan Construction News an information portal," Carrigan said. "Anyone with any interest in construction would want to visit it first, because of the extensive resources it provides."

Editing Michigan Construction News is Guy Snyder, founder of Snytco Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience covering Michigan’s construction industry. For 25 years he served on the staff of a weekly heavy construction industry trade journal, including more than 16 years as its editor-in-chief.
