SEATTLE, WA -- (PRnetwire) -- JUNE 10, 2001 -- The Seattle Stars Youth Baseball Team, a member of the Shoreline Stars Baseball Club and sponsored by the SwingAway(R) Hitting Station, has been selected to play June 23 to 29, 2001, in the Cooperstown Dreams Park National Youth Baseball Invitational Tournament in the Magical Mythical Home of Baseball . . . Cooperstown, NY. In addition to competing against teams from around the country, members of the Seattle Stars will be enshrined in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

America's First and Foremost Youth Baseball Experience -- The Cooperstown Dreams Park Experience, since 1996, offers more than baseball. This cultural and life enriching experience for team and family members will create memories to last a lifetime. Players and coaches will, like the heroes of the game before them, visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame, share hometown stories, trade pins and compete with players from around the world for a weekly national title. Team records and photographs will be displayed in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

Cooperstown Dreams Park, the First and Foremost Youth Baseball Facility, has ten professionally groomed and lighted fields. The Park is situated on 104 acres and features baseball diamonds with grass infields enclosed by eight-foot-high stadium walls.

Teams will spend seven days and six nights in the Baseball Village clubhouses and eat three meals daily in the team dining hall. Teams will arrive on Saturday and depart the following Friday. Each team is guaranteed at least eight games (weather permitting) and will earn a seed into the championship playoff tournament. All teams will be represented in the "King of Swat, "Road Runner," Golden Arm," and "Around the Horn Plus" skill competitions.

Players will receive a Cooperstown Little Majors home and away jersey, sox, hat, and the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame ring. All teams/players will have a Kodak photo session and receive personalized Dreams Park baseball cards.

Throughout the summer of 2001, there will be eleven weekly national tournaments hosted Cooperstown Dreams Park between June 16 and August 31. Nine weekly champions along with 39 other championship teams will earn the right to participate in the premier youth baseball tournament . . . the National American Tournament of Champions (N.A.T.C.), which will be held August 25 through August 31. Teams from across the country and around the globe will compete for a true 12 and under National Title.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY OF YOUTH BASEBALL

SHORELINE STARS BASEBALL CLUB
The Shoreline Stars Baseball Club, founded by Bob Rankin of Lake Forest Park Washington (PH 206-417-4999), and by Dave Parker of Shoreline Washington (PH 206-361-1070), offers All-Star Little League and Pony League players ages 10 to 14 the opportunity to play competitive hardball. The Club's Shoreline Stars 13-year old Sandy Koufax division team recently ran their record to 35-5, by winning the prestigious Continental American Baseball Association (CABA) state championship. The 13-year old team will represent the Stars and the State of Washington at the CABA World Series, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the end of July. The Club's Shoreline Stars 12-year old team, with a record of 19-3, won the Washington State ESBA league championship and over Memorial Day Weekend was first among 14 premier select teams from throughout the Northwest in winning the coveted McDonald's Northwest Baseball Tournament Championship.

SEATTLE STARS BASEBALL TEAM
The thirteen members of the Club's "Seattle Stars" team traveling to Cooperstown are drawn from the Shoreline Stars 12-year old team and from some of the best 12-year-old and under youth baseball teams in the Seattle area. The Players are: David Bentrott of Maple Valley; Geoffrey Brown of Seattle; Scotty Greenburg of Lake Forest Park; Leonard Hill of Shoreline; Andrew Lee of Seattle; Ryan Martin of Shoreline; Kenny Parker of Shoreline; Pierce Rankin of Lake Forest Park; Riley Reynolds of Shoreline; Chris Shreeve of Shoreline; Grady Small of Shoreline; Sean Stuart of Shoreline; and Adam Wolotira of Lake Forest Park. Dave Parker manages the Seattle Stars.

SWINGAWAY(R) HITTING STATION
The Seattle Stars Baseball Team is sponsored by Rebound Sports LLC, maker of the world famous SwingAway Hitting Station used by hundreds of professional and college athletes to improve batting performance. "The SwingAway has been an incredible tool for our club -- batting performance has improved across the board," said Dave Parker. "We had our players attend the SwingAway Academy starting in January, and our 19-3 record so far has a lot to do with the positive work ethic and hard hitting that resulted from our players attending the academy and regular use of the SwingAway Hitting Station. The SwingAway Academy also stressed sportsmanship and positive attitude, and we greatly appreciated that emphasis." For more information, visit www.swingaway.com.

All teams are winners at Cooperstown Dreams Park. The Cooperstown Dreams Park mission and goal is to promote a high caliber of play and allow young players to experience the purity of baseball as it was meant to be. By stepping up to the plate, regardless of outcome, players will leave with a sense of pride, dignity and accomplishment for having participated and becoming a part of history. Cooperstown Dreams Park is a place in time where the players are their own heroes
