FAT BEAT SQUAD TO PLAY "THE BEST MUSICAL EVENT IN CALIFORNIA"
San Diego, CA -- (PRnetwire) -- August 24, 2001 -- San Diego-based hip-hop funk masters, the FAT BEAT SQUAD are making waves once again by being invited back to play 3 of the area's hottest annual events: San Diego Street Scene; Rob Machado Surf Classic; and the San Diego Music Awards. The invites were due to the band's stellar performances at last year's events.
Music lovers are going to flock to the Time Warner/Road Runner Stage of the San Diego Street Scene on Friday, September 7 @ 5pm to see the FAT BEAT SQUAD share the stage with legends such as Young MC, Whodini, Jurassic 5 and the Dilated Peoples. http://www.street-scene.com/
Sept 9 will be a day at the beach when the beat squad returns to the Rob Machado Surf Classic for the third year in a row. The surf classic is in the pristine city of Cardiff by-the-sea. Rob Machado, professional surfer extraordinaire will be on hand as the master of ceremonies for the weekend. http://www.robmachadosurfclassic.com
Last year, the FAT BEAT SQUAD's performance at the after party of the San Diego Music Awards (www.sdmusicawards.com) was attended by the cream of San Diego's musical crop, which filled Humphrey's Backstage Lounge to capacity. "These people know music, so it's an honor for the beat squad to be once again be chosen to headline the Music Awards after party," says Percussionist Jason Dalton.
