Cellular Fashions To Donate $7,500 In Hands-free Headsets To Promote Driving Safety

EDISON, NJ - May 7, 2003 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Local cellular phone business, Cellular Fashions, with three retail locations in Edison, is to donate 500 hands-free headset kits to Edison residents in support of Edison's new safety ordinance. Starting April 23, 2003, Edison Township will no longer allow drivers to use a cellular phone without a hands-free kit. This new ordinance comes after increased safety concerns from Edison's Municipal Council.

With an expected turnout of 5,000 Edison residents, Cellular Fashions feels that the Edison Municipal Alliance 13th Annual Family Day and 9th Annual 5K Race on May 10th at the New Jersey Convention Center at Raritan Center (www.njexpocenter.com) would be an ideal event to promote their new community campaign: "Safety: Your Most Important Call."

The program, sponsored by the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA), an international industry organization, provides 10 key guidelines for safety while driving.
