HONOLULU, Hawaii, April 11 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- When real estate sales are slow, the bargain hunters come out, and their favorite place to look for great deals is at real estate auctions. But not every real estate auction is a foreclosure. Honolulu real estate brokerage firm Elite Pacific Properties is holding a combined live and online auction for a rare parcel of oceanfront land in a highly desirable section of the pricey Diamond Head neighborhood. Amid all the news of the national housing slump, people might assume this is a foreclosure auction. While not a foreclosure, it could end up as a bargain. The city's current assessed tax value is $6,850,100, and it was recently appraised at over $7 million - yet the minimum bid is just $3.6 million.

Why an auction? "Real estate auctions force buyers into action - if they are interested, they have to act now," said Stephen Cipres, Elite's co-founder. "This is not a distress sale, but the seller is motivated. They are expecting to get bids above the minimum, and buyers will be looking for a good deal."

Many REALTORS(R) consider this area to be the most desirable of all Oahu real estate. Celebrities, corporate executives, and international jet-setters join wealthy families from Oahu in this pocket of luxurious homes on Diamond Head Rd. The lot to be auctioned is in the most desirable stretch of just 8 oceanfront parcels between two secluded beach parks, overlooking the beautiful reef-filled waters. Close to Waikiki but sheltered from the city by dramatic Diamond Head, whales and surfers share the water and sunsets are magnificent. Cipres points out "A spec-built house three lots away on one side recently sold for $10.8 million, and a billionaire is currently building a house 3 lots away on the other side after paying $6.8 million for a property just to tear down the existing houses. We know you can build a spectacular home on this lot for $2 million turn-key, so this offers quite an opportunity for someone to build their dream home or for an investor to build a home for $2 million and sell it for about $10 million."

While sales have generally been lackluster across the state and the nation, the opposite is true of upscale Oahu real estate, which had more sales of properties over $5 million in the first three months of 2008 than in any quarter in history.

"This property is what's known as a CPR, which means it is divided into two lots that can be owned separately, each of which can have a legal house on it. Or buyers may want the entire parcel. So we're giving bidders three options" explains Cipres. "They can bid on the oceanfront 9,146 square feet with a minimum bid of $2.6 million, the 5,000 square foot ocean view portion with a minimum bid of $1.2 million, or the entire 14,146 square foot property with a minimum bid of $3.6 million."

The live auction is scheduled for Saturday April 19th on the property, with registration beginning at 11 am. Valet parking will be available, and well-known auctioneer Joe Teipel will handle the live bidding, including the charity auction that precedes the real estate auction. "Bidders can also place a bid at our online real estate auction website, www.elitepropertyauctions.com" adds Elite co-founder Paul Mayer. "This is a convenience for anyone who can't be here in person. Extensive property information is available online, and it takes just seconds to register and bid." The online auction ends April 15th to allow Elite personnel to verify bidders' identity and to confirm their bid and ability to purchase, and then the high bids will be entered into the live auction. One benefit of bidding online is that the seller is providing a $20,000 bonus to any ultimate buyer who bids online, although this is also available to live auction buyers who register by April 18th.

While Elite specializes in upscale Hawaii real estate, their online auction site www.elitepropertyauctions.com also has more affordable real estate auctions, with houses, condos, income property, and land, some with starting bids as low as $1,000. "These are not foreclosure auctions, just a different way of marketing real estate for a motivated seller who wants to sell fast. An auction compresses the time frame to sell and the opportunity to get a bargain attracts attention in a crowded market where there are more sellers than buyers," says Mayer.

Property information, bidding, and bidder registration documents are available at www.elitepropertyauctions.com, and interested parties can request a free Property Information Package on CD with even more information.

Elite Pacific Properties is a real estate brokerage firm specializing in upscale properties, offering buyer and seller representation, property management, and real estate auctions for properties located throughout the state of Hawaii.

BRONX, N.Y., April 7 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Baseball memorabilia guru Brian Cataquet, who runs Tobeeecat Auctions, a well known online sports card and memorabilia company, has received hundreds of emails from baseball fan collectors who are a little wary about their sports investments, asking the same question. "Has the weak economy hurt the baseball card and memorabilia industry?" To answer this question in one word, the answer is, No!

In an economy that is currently labeled a "Danger Zone," with the Stock Market over the last several months falling over 1,000 points. Households in foreclosures totaling 900,000 in the U.S., that's over 76% from last year, the sales of baseball cards/memorabilia remain firm.

While retail sales dropped to 0.4% in December, a record low since 2002, Baseball cards and memorabilia sales have actually soared in prices. For example, in a December Sports Auction that took place in Chicago, a 1912 Jim Thorpe candy baseball card called a Colgan's Chip sold for $51,896. A 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card in Near Mint sold for $34,156, A 1955 Topps card set in near mint sold for $50,476. A 1910 Pittsburgh Pirates Card set called Tip Top Bread which featured 25 members of the Pirates including Honus Wagner sold for $69,253.

In January 2008 when statements like "Stocks fall, Recession ahead" or "U.S. Heading for a Deep Recession" were being said, baseball memorabilia skyrocketed in sales. Look at these figures. In a sports auction that took place at Sotheby's in New York City in Jan. '08 a 1917 Ty Cobb game used bat sold for $87,114. A 1921 Babe Ruth game used bat sold for $79,015. A 1965 Mickey Mantle bat sold for $26,698. Jimmie Foxx's 1939 game used bat sold for $24,216. Barry Bonds 754 home run ball sold for $26,936. Even photographs were selling at an all time record high. A 1920's Miller Huggins (Yankees manager) autograph photograph fetched $18,574.00.

According to Cataquet, "At this present moment there is currently an auction taking place ending in two weeks in New Jersey which features a Cigarette card of Honus Wagner (T206) that grades poor and the bid is at $150,000 which I believe will sell for close to $250,000. In that same auction there is a 1914 Babe Ruth card that has a bid of over $155,000 and I believe that card will fetch for over $220,000. So baseball collectors do not worry the current state of the baseball card and memorabilia market is strong. In a better economy it would be even stronger for vintage baseball. With all this said during a weak economy, this shows you the strength and importance of our national game in this country."
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - June 6 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- In 1947 Amon Baucom started a landscaping business with little more than a wheelbarrow and a shovel. Sixty years later Baucom's Nursery, the great grandchild of Amon Baucom's landscaping enterprise, is still a family oriented business, with multiple locations in North and South Carolina and Florida, and a consistent ranking as one of the top 100 greenhouse growers in the U.S.

Come September, however, the Baucom saga will be starting a new chapter. Baucom's has decided to close their 320 acre floriculture operations in Summerville, South Carolina, liquidate their assets, and start a new business venture in the economically expanding Dorchester County area.

The story behind the sale is a familiar one to large scale nursery growers across the U.S. Land appreciation over the last decade has increased property values to the point that the land is often worth more than the businesses on it. Greenhouse nurseries generally require a substantial amount of land to operate, and recent economic and residential growth have pushed the geographic boundaries of many towns so that nursery operations that were originally built out of town now find themselves sharing property lines with suburban housing tracts and commercial districts.

For many nurseries, the combination of valuable land and rising production costs leads to some tough, but necessary decisions. For Baucom's Summerville, South Carolina facility, that decision was to step away from the greenhouse nursery business and embrace the potential land development projects afforded by their prime location. Summerville, a quiet garden community with a growing business oriented economy, and an ideal location - close enough to Charleston to be accessible to the major sea-port and bustling commercial district, but far enough away that it has maintained its small town appeal - poses an excellent opportunity for development.

"Summerville worked as a nursery site for us for a decade," says Gary Baucom, CEO of Baucom's Nursery. "We've had a good run here, but the best use of this land is not in nursery stock. It just doesn't make sense anymore." Still, Baucom admits that the decision to re-develop wasn't an easy one and reminisced about his family's "deep roots in the Summerville area." Among the items coming up for sale this September is the first bulldozer bought by Amon Baucom back when Baucom's did more landscaping than growing.

The first phase of the re-development is scheduled to take place, not at the Summerville location, but online. Baucom's has hired the online auction firm West Auctions to liquidate the Summerville nursery, as well as surplus equipment from their Florida and North Carolina operations. Helping large scale nurseries liquidate their capital assets is something in which California based West Auctions has found recent success. Westauction.com has become the auction site to watch for greenhouse growers looking to acquire quality nursery equipment at auction prices.

The results have been beneficial for buyers and sellers alike. "Nursery equipment is so specialized," says West Auctions' Jeff Bradshaw, "that creating a marketplace where sellers and buyers can meet up despite geographic differences has filled a real economic vacuum."

For Baucom's Nursery, that forum is the right opportunity to prepare their business for its next phase, from grower to developer.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Feb. 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- In the world of real-estate, it's all about location. However when the location is online, the old rules no longer apply. As the internet surges into another growth spurt, industries are finding new solutions to their economic questions on the world wide web. That is what happened to Kim and Dave Snoddy, the owners of Oldham County Nursery near Louisville, Kentucky. When they decided that it was time to liquidate their 127 acre nursery facility in Crestwood, Kentucky, they didn't turn to one of the hundreds of local auctioneers and auction houses. The Snoddy's got online and looked west - 2000 miles west to Woodland, California and the online auction company West Auctions.

Oldham County Nursery was founded in 1991, and almost tripled in size in just over a decade. The nursery specialized in trees and shrubs for landscapers, developers, and wholesalers and the real-estate development in the area over the last decade kept a constant demand on the nursery industry. However, that very growth has changed the nature of doing business for Oldham County Nursery.

Located a few miles out of Louisville, the property that the nursery occupies has appreciated to the point that the land out-values the business on it. This left the Snoddy's facing some tough decisions. With an operation that employed 30 people and produced over 30,000 field grown trees and shrubs and 80,000 container plants, liquidation was no small operation. That's when they turned to westauction.com for answers.

"There are a few things we'll be doing differently," said West Auctions' Dennis West in reference to the March 14 auction. "Spring is fast approaching and we need to liquidate the plant material before it goes into full bloom. Our goal is to sell the live goods in large lots that are attractive to wholesale buyers across the nation." Of course it won't only be wholesale plant buyers bidding at this online auction.

In nearby La Grange, local businesses are paying close attention to the vehicles, farm equipment and shop tools that will also be auctioned off. Nurseries and greenhouse operators across the nation are expressing interest in the specialized nursery equipment and the 17 high-tech greenhouses that will be sold as well.
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Jan. 29 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Simply Sapphires will auction off a 18 kt gold and sapphire jewelry suite (necklace, bracelet and earrings) to benefit Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU), announced John Tolliver, President and CEO of Simply Sapphires LLC. The auction will be held on the eBay Auction website January 29 - February 7, 2007.

Simply Sapphires LLC is an online company that specializes in the sale of natural precious stones to consumers and retailers. The site features Ceylon Sapphires, Tanzanite, Burma Rubies, Boulder Opal, Colombian Emeralds and other fine colored gems. Founded in 1998, Simply Sapphires gained success due to quality stones and superior customer service. www.simplysapphires.com.

This annual fundraising effort was prompted by the death of John's Doberman Pinscher "Val" several years ago. DRU assisted him with turning his dog's terminal illness into a positive step forward by the adoption of other dogs that needed a good home.

About Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU)
Since DRU's founding in 1988, this non-profit organization has helped over 1,200 homeless Doberman Pinschers. Many who are rescued suffer from the effects of abuse and neglect with most in poor or life-threatening situations. Each animal taken in by DRU is examined by a veterinarian, tested, treated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, tattooed with an ID number in case it becomes lost or stolen, and placed.

Pending placement, the animals are kept in foster homes or in various facilities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Each animal is evaluated carefully before placement to assure that the animal and its new home are a good match.

Other important functions of DRU are public education, animal care and obedience counseling, and training for being placed with the elderly, hearing or sight-impaired. Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU) PO Box 184 North Billerica, MA 01862 T: 978.454.9791. www.dru.org.

The auction is open to the public with the bidding beginning at $5. A nominal retail value for this set of jewelry would be well above $3,000.
EUSTIS, Fla. - Oct. 30 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) - MerryGro Farms, one of the largest and premier floriculture plant nurseries in the southeast, is restructuring operations and liquidating assets by online auction. After 24 years of producing the highest quality flowers and specialty roses available, MerryGro has decided to put everything it owns on the auction block this November. Absolutely nothing will be held back.

The sale of MerryGro Farm's assets is expected to be the largest online auction ever conducted for the green industry. The sale will include the company's entire fleet of trucks and trailers, all tractors and farm implements, thousands of shipping carts and nursery wagons, all kinds of greenhouse equipment and supplies, along with everything else needed to run the sprawling 200 acre growing facility near Orlando, Florida.

Nothing is spared from the auction - even the company's trademark name and proprietary website will be sold to the highest bidder.

It should come as no surprise that the President and CEO of MerryGro Farms, Inc., Andre Raab, chose to liquidate assets by online auction. For the past decade, Raab has led the greenhouse industry in implementing e-commerce solutions, so he understands the power of internet markets. When asked about selling his equipment by online auction, Raab said the decision was easy because "As long as buyers have internet access, they can bid anytime from anywhere. This means that there will be a large pool of competitive bidders to ensure fair prices."

To manage the liquidation process, MerryGro Farms hired West Auctions, a marketing firm with ten years of online auction experience and strong ties within the green industry. Having conducted several recent auctions of high-profile greenhouse growers, the company has a proven track record for reaching an international audience of industry-specific buyers.

"Our goal is to create a bidding environment that instills confidence in our buyers," says West Auctions' CEO, Dennis West, "thereby maximizing auction results for our sellers."

The online auction of MerryGro Farms will be held between November 29th and December 6th, 2006 at www.westauction.com.
The Seattle Super Dog is not just any dog but one that was purchased during the Seattle Seahawks NFC Championship game against the Carolina Panthers towards the end of the 3rd quarter at QWEST Field during the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game.
*(Photo Caption: The Seattle super dog, bought by GoldenPalace.com.)

Controversy swirled around the auction as the price for the dog grew continually until it was discovered that there were many false bids. The auction was then reset to include only bidders that could cut the mustard.

GoldenPalace.com won with a bid of $1800 US and will soon be in possession of the Super Dog which is now vacuum sealed and frozen for freshness.
The Foundation is recognized as a non-profit organization and funding comes solely from annual fund raising events and corporate and public contributions.

"We are happy to have the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause," said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe. "The eBay webpage received over 350,000 visitors so it's obvious that people are interested in the Super Dog. This will be a welcome addition to our collection of odd items."

GoldenPalace.com has made headlines worldwide by winning a variety of unusual eBay auctions, several of which were for charity. Some of their most notable eBay purchases have been the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Britney Spears Pregnancy Test, and William Shatner's Kidney Stone. The casino has used these and other items to raise over $1,000,000 for charities worldwide so far.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Oct. 7 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- shrimpo LLC is announcing for auction the domain name: saudi-binladin-group.com and associated Binladin domain names, once owned by Osama Binladin's family. These domain names, and their corresponding emails, were legally secured via a unique technology developed by Christopher Curry, Principal of shrimpo LLC, on September 11, 2001. The attack against the Twin Towers and the events that ensued has been linked to Osama Binladin. It is coincidental that on that very day, Binladin's family website and all their emails and the domain name also expired on September 11, 2001.

shrimpo LLC is offering the sale of these domain names in an effort to stay true to its goals of creating peace around the globe. shrimpo LLC feels there is no better way to help others than through turning its back on terror and help the victims of man-made and environmental disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina.

This domain name will be up for auction at http://www.saudi-binladin-group.com/auction/

shrimpo LLC will contribute 60 percent of all monies received by the auction sale to the following charities: 56 cents of every dollar to the American Red Cross; 4 cents of every dollar to C'amai, an environmental awareness group focusing on global environmental changes.

The message at shrimpo LLC is one of promoting peace on Earth, by reaching out and helping each other - rather than perpetuating human injustice and environmental destruction. Christopher Curry remarks, "We wish to take this opportunity to bring our dreams of global peace to life by giving support to these organizations. Therefore, we have made the following decision to provide an opportunity to a special individual to own a piece of United States history."

This is a unique opportunity to own an unparalleled and controversial piece of United States history, as well as a mysterious technological piece of manifestation as it relates to the most violent attack against the United States. You can not only own a part of history, but you can be a part of that history. The new owner may possess this exciting piece of U.S. history and get an insider's view into some of these coincidental actions and events.
Limited First Edition Heliodisplay M1 Available through eBay Auction

PHOENIX, Ariz. - August 29 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- JK Venture Partners announced today that it has acquired the rights to sell on eBay some of the first IO2 Heliodisplays available on the market. The IO2 Heliodisplay is the patented display that projects a full-color image onto thin air. Individuals and businesses alike may bid to buy a Limited First Edition Heliodisplay M1, through eBay Auction number 5235836491.

The Heliodisplay, covered extensively by media sources such as The Discovery Channel, CNN, The New York Times, MIT Technology Review, Slashdot, and Wired Magazine, allows for full-color, full-motion video to be displayed in mid-air, without a physical screen. With any standard video source (such as a computer or a DVD player), the Heliodisplay projects a SuperVGA-resolution image into the air that the viewer can walk around and even touch. Now, anyone can bid on a limited, first-edition Heliodisplay M1 -- not just the unit, but also some perks.

Included for the winning bidder will be a one-on-one tour (with hamburger lunch) of the San Francisco facilities of IO2 Technology, and complete user familiarization session, both conducted by the Heliodisplay's inventor, Chad Dyner. Dyner commented, "The Heliodisplay is a breakthrough technology, and the winning bidder of this auction will own a signed, authentic first edition of one of the first Heliodisplays made: a functional, plug-and-play prototype display that projects onto thin air. Also, they'll get a free lunch."

Despite Chad's friendly demeanor, the Heliodisplay has serious capabilities, and IO2 Technology is reportedly courting customer inquiries from several business market segments. Consumers, as well as professionals in the advertising, trade show, signage, and entertainment industries are likely to be among the bidders. The eBay auction number for the first-edition Heliodisplay M1 is 5235836491, with a starting price of $1.

The Heliodisplay is completely plug-and-play, and ready for use with any video source in an office or home. It displays a 22" diagonal (4:3 width:length aspect ratio) image in full color, at a native S-VGA resolution of 800x600 (supports XVGA - 1024x768 in expanded mode). Because it projects light onto air, it works best in an indoor setting, with still air, and as with any projector or display, the image looks best when the room is darkened.

Although still considered only a prototype, and an early-stage proof of IO2's technology, the Heliodisplay is easy to use, and comes with full technical support, and a six-month warranty on all parts and labor. It runs on a standard household power outlet. For more information about the Heliodisplay, potential bidders are invited to visit the informational website for the auction, http://www.buyhelio.com , or view the Ebay eBay auction directly, by searching on eBay for 5235836491.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - August 16 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Holy Grail of toll free numbers for brokers - (877) BROKERS - is up for auction on eBay by seller Nader Anise. It is item # 7537987363. Experts believe this may be one of the highest selling toll free numbers ever auctioned on eBay. The domain name, www.1-877-brokers.com, is also included as part of the package.

"You have all types of brokers - mortgage brokers, stockbrokers, business brokers, real estate brokers, diamond brokers, ticket brokers - all interested in this number. They can just tell their clients to call (877) BROKERS to reach them, or they can use it in their ad campaigns - and it's virtually guaranteed to increase business. There is simply no other number for brokers that is as memorable," said Nader Anise, current owner of the number.

With the auction ending on August 21st, most of the heavy bidding is about to begin. Already, the (877) BROKERS listing page on eBay has been viewed nearly 100 times. All interested parties should go to eBay as quickly as possible to enter their bid.

The interest in (877) BROKERS has not been limited to small one and two-person broker companies, either. Large national brokerage companies, as well as toll free "shared use" companies have also expressed interest.

Good toll free vanity numbers, i.e., numbers that spell words, can generate 200-300% more calls than non-vanity numbers, thus increasing profitability. However, it is nearly impossible to find good vanity numbers that aren't already taken.

For more information on the (877) BROKERS number and domain package, look up item # 7537987363 on eBay.
