GLENDALE, CA (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Just in time for the 2006 NBA All-Star game, publisher AllPro Deal, Inc. (www.allprodeal.com) announces the release of the 2006 NBA Sports Playing Cards. Following the success of last season's product debut, the 2006 edition contains new players and rankings for those NBA All-Stars popular enough to make the cut. A proven collectible souvenir and NBA favorite for fans and game players, the Sports Playing Cards offer 52 full-color hand-painted caricature portraits of the NBA's best on a deck of casino-quality playing cards.

AllPro Deal is proud to announce national distribution of its sports card products with the addition of Rite Aid stores to its distribution channels. Placement in over 2500 Rite Aid stores, along with Big 5 Sporting Goods, 7-Eleven Stores, and other regional outlets, has expanded product outreach from coast to coast.

Created by company founder and renowned artist Peter Green, the cards have become one of the most popular licensed NBA products. "There aren't many products that represent all the NBA teams and great players in such a positive manner," says Green, adding that, "unlike standard trading cards, the artistic freedom I have enables me to better illustrate the players' faces and unique personalities." Executive Director Greg Dawson focuses on the collectible nature of the product line. "The players are ranked in the deck based on popularity and performance, and we've reserved the deuces for the top incoming rookies, so there are new faces in new places with every edition." Dawson also notes, "Another factor in the rise of popularity of the cards is the heightened international interest in poker combined with the NBA's growing fan base at home and around the world."

Soon to be released is a new licensed product for NASCAR racing fans. Scheduled to debut the second quarter of this year, the NASCAR Racing Cards will present drivers, crew chiefs, and owners in a similar hand-painted style, all on a deck of premium playing cards. AllPro Deal plans to expand the product line to include other major sports, including the NFL and MLB.
