EUGENE, Ore., July 16 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ProTune Technology, patented by Paradigm Multimedia, provides new ways to design and enhance in-room entertainment systems in health care facilities. This radically new engineering concept for entertainment systems lowers equipment costs and increases the number of choices available when purchasing in-room systems.

The HT-24 Tuner Interface is the first product from Paradigm Multimedia that incorporates ProTune Technology. Early reactions from system integrators and hospitals are positive and enthusiastic about the benefits to be realized.

Previously, health care institutions had to purchase televisions containing specialized interface circuitry. This led to procuring low-volume units that were only available at a premium price.

With ProTune Technology, hospitals can now purchase commodity-priced, commercial displays with an on-going cost benefit as the HT 24 unit will support multiple display-replacement cycles. Further, cost is not the only advantage of using ProTune Technology.

Ed Baron, Business Development Manager at Paradigm Multimedia explains that, "Hospitals and other health care institutions have quickly seen the advantages that come with having increased display choices."

Television systems typically sold to health care institutions come from a limited selection of makes and models; perhaps even worse, the technology used is often "last generation" and stays that way.

The HT-24 interfaces the nurse-call system (at the pillow-speaker) to the LCD-display device. ProTune Technology puts an end to the old method of provisioning. It allows hospitals and healthcare-system integrators to keep the best and most current in-room entertainment systems in the facility - an increasingly important consideration given the importance of image and the measuring of quality today.

"The combined effect of lower cost and more choice," Baron added, "is creating a before and after effect on how in-room entertainment systems are procured. ProTune Technology is changing the rules: healthcare entertainment systems can now gain all the savings and flexibility of commodity-priced commercial monitors while de-coupling from yesterday's high-cost, low-choice game."

PROVO, Utah, June 20 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Lumos Inc. announces the launch of Light Shield(TM), the first, light-based mosquito abatement device that repels mosquitoes from illuminated areas without chemicals or other expensive equipment. Its low-energy consumption and chemical-free composition make it an environmentally-friendly product that really works.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention, malaria, which is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito, is the most common life-threatening infection in the world; malaria causes approximately 500 million infections and more than one million deaths, annually. As a result, malaria drains economies in Africa, Asia, and the Americas by reducing productivity and increasing health service cost.

This is where Lumos Inc. can help. Following three years of development, Lumos has discovered a simple, non-polluting approach for dealing with unpleasant summertime visitors that frequent outdoor and patio activities.

Using a patented light technology, Lumos has integrated an energy-efficient, compact fluorescent floodlight with a specially-tuned light filter creating an effective mosquito barrier.

Independent testing performed by Independent Laboratory Pesticide Efficacy Testing Regulatory Services has documented an impressive 97 percent reduction of mosquitoes in protected zones illuminated by Light Shield(TM). This means 97 percent less mosquito bites.

Light Shield(TM) easily installs in any number of outdoor floodlight or patio-lighting fixtures. Free standing outdoor fixtures can be used to direct Light Shield(TM) to more targeted protection zones.

Providing up to 3,000 hours of protection, Light Shield(TM) has one of the lowest operating costs of any mosquito abatement product on the market.

Additionally, as highly pathogenic diseases such as West Nile Virus and Avian Bird Flu threaten people's health, maintaining mosquito-free areas around homes is becoming more important than ever. Light Shield(TM) represents one of the most effective and least expensive solutions to dealing with this threat.

Currently, Lumos is offering free evaluation Light Shield(TM) units to industry advisors, dealers, retailers, and distributors interested in selling or recommending this exciting new product.
DENVER, Colo., March 24 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Executive Recycling, Inc., facing the challenge of a glut of TVs soon to be on the market, announces that they are ready for action. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently mandated that all TV transmission be digital by February 19, 2009 - so what's the problem? The problem is that there are approximately 250 million analog TVs in the U.S. that are not equipped for digital. People can choose to purchase converters, or toss out their old TVs, but how can they do this safely?

According to the team at Executive Recycling, the materials used in TVs are very toxic.

"Toxic materials include lead, cadmium, and mercury," Tor Olson, the company's director, said. "If not properly recycled, these items can lead to air and ground contamination."

Executive Recycling has put a plan in place to help people dispose of useless TVs in an environmentally safe manner. They have planned 21 recycling drop-off events for 2008 that will allow the public to bring in their old TVs, and other electronic devices.

To meet this challenge head on, the company has purchased a CRT glass-cutting machine, allowing for glass-to-glass recycling. They hope to have the equipment up and running within the next month; the machine is capable of processing 30-40 CRT tubes per hour.

The glass will be separated into two parts: funnel glass which contains the leaded glass; and the panel glass which contains no lead. This material will then be cleaned and processed and sent off to a CRT manufacturer to be used in the production of new CRT tubes for TVs and monitors.

Recycling electronics is a complex process and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has fines in place for improper disposal. Executive Recycling helps to protect people and companies from liability issues while protecting the environment at the same time.

Executive Recycling, Inc., based in Englewood, Colorado, combines over 20 years of IT experience, extensive knowledge of current EPA requirements, and a dedication to world-class service.
CARPINTERIA, Calif., Feb. 26 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Holland Scott Gallery today announces the debut of the Environmentally Responsible Green Energy Fine Art Lamps. These lamps combine energy-efficiency technology with fine-art design. Elegant photographic floral images and art-deco linoleum patterns from the 1930's are the result of energy efficient LED (Light Emitting Diode) lamp technology and the Giclee (zhee-clay) fine-art printmaking process.

The Giclee printmaking process uses permanent archival vegetable die inks on the cylindrical illuminated photographic image. Additional lamp designs are in production.

Omnidirectional, these LED lamps provide the correct color temperature of daylight for displaying naturally brilliant photographic colors. They also generate no heat and are free from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays that may cause fading over time. More importantly, LED lamps use 80 to 90 percent less energy than the incandescent lamps they replace.

Inventor and artist, Candy Hawthorne, along with her husband and art dealer, Scott, also a professional photographer and a true-digital art pioneer, are the brains behind the first Green Energy Fine Art Lamps. They have been creating art mediums with computers and technology since 1978.

Scott is a designer and creative evangelist; his contemporary photographic works are represented in each lamp he designs.

"The natural photographic beauty is complemented with the soft LED lighting; these new lamps look spectacular," Scott said. "The eco-friendliness of the new lamps is also very exciting."

The new long lasting LED lighting is provided by LEDtronics, one of the leading LED lighting design and manufacturing companies in the U.S.
LANDOVER, Md. - Feb. 1 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- SecurWireless, Inc., provider of wireless video surveillance solutions for government, state and local, and commercial applications, partnered with live web casting company, iTV360, to provide live video coverage of the 2008 Mavericks Surf Contest, that began January 12th, in Half Moon Bay, California. Strapped to the back of a jet ski, SecurWireless' waterproof Water Cam provided live video coverage from the water of the famed surfing event.
Photo by and (c) Kevin German" />Video can still be viewed from the live-event site at myspace.com/maverickssurf. MySpace's live stream of the Maverick's big-wave surfing contest drew 300,000 viewers during the event, making it the third-biggest streaming event in the Web site's history.

"We were very excited to have the opportunity to support iTV360.com and The Mavericks Surf Contest by providing our rugged wireless video system for the in-the-water view of this amazing event," said Corby Lawrence, SecurWireless President and CEO. "Our technology's ruggedability and reliability, proven in the Military market, easily crosses into the equally rugged world of surfing and live web casting. Our systems were designed to provide critical video data, where there are gaps in coverage, or where infrastructure simply does not exist, to those that need it. In this case, it's the fans."

"The 2008 live web cast was something special. The iTV360 live water angle is absolutely key to getting the full feeling from a wave like Mavericks." said Jay Johnson, Director at iTV360. "The technology is incredible to bring the live water cam shot from the back of a the jet ski to over 300,000 in cyberspace, not to mention the massive crowd at AT&T park in San Francisco. The broadcast of this contest has come a long way in the 5 years we have been covering the action."

The Mavericks Surf Contest(R) is world famous, and for good reason. Supremely harsh conditions and the giant, unpredictable waves both contribute to the Contest's allure. So do the frigid waters, dangerous currents, jagged rocks and the ever-present threat of the Great White Shark. When Mother Nature and a little luck combine to produce the notoriously massive waves, 24 legendary surfers will get The Call. When they do, they will have a mere 24 hours to prepare themselves to face the extreme conditions, the thunderous waves, and each other.

About iTV360 (www.itv360.com)
iTV360 is the premier live web cast production team for the action sports, music and entertainment industries. The company has over 8 years of experience with hundreds of live broadcasts of the biggest events in arenas of surf, skate, snow, music, paintball, motocross, special events and much more. iTV360 has a team of production professionals with the experience to produce dynamic content that will make a lasting impact on the audience.

About SecurWireless (www.SecurWireless.com)
SecurWireless, Inc., headquartered in Landover, MD, is a high technology product and services company that provides affordable, rapidly deployable and easily maintained wireless infrastructure systems specifically for video and other surveillance applications. The company's roots stem from meeting Military requirements for highly reliable, rapidly deployable, rugged mobile wireless intelligent surveillance to support the Global War on Terrorism.

SecurWireless continues to meet these demands and has leveraged its experience to provide other government and public safety agencies with the same capabilities. Having to install thousands of yards of cable or fiber infrastructure for video is costly and time consuming. Threats are here today and professionals need surveillance now, not after months or years of planning and spending millions of dollars. SecurWireless' technologies meet this need and more importantly the systems are open and interoperable for expandability to meet the threats of tomorrow.
Industry Veteran Joins Emerging Leader in Infrared Night Vision Imaging Technology

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Jan. 9 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- NoblePeak Vision (www.noblepeak.com) announced today that Mike Decelle has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. Decelle takes the reins from co-founder Cliff King, bringing 25 years of experience to NoblePeak with demonstrated leadership capabilities and success in both startup and large public companies. King moves into the Chief Operating Officer role to focus on new product development and manufacturing as NoblePeak rapidly approaches market introduction of its revolutionary night vision TriWave(R) camera cores in 2008.

"The initial build of our TriWave(R) technology evaluation cameras has sold out." said Cliff King cofounder and COO of NoblePeak. "It is critical that we now capitalize on this momentum by successfully introducing new products and bringing our VGA based camera cores to production in 2008. The addition of Mike strengthens our team, accelerating our early success and relationships with our major security camera and military OEM lead customers."

Decelle brings a strong track record in both technology and product development which began at Bell Laboratories. He has extensive sales and business development experience in established large companies such as Lucent Technologies where his responsibilities included managing major accounts and lines of business worth more than $2B. Over the last six years Decelle has served as President and CEO for several optical technology start up companies and recently led the successful sale of Apogee Photonics to CyOptics.

"The reaction to NoblePeak's TriWave(R) technology by leading camera OEM's and Systems Integrators has been tremendous, representing broad and diverse customer demand for a cost efficient solution for night vision," said Ken Boyda, former President and CEO of GE Security, Inc. and NoblePeak board member. "Mike's knowledge of optical technologies and experience at both large and startup company leadership make him the perfect fit, joining the company at a high growth commercialization stage of development, rapidly transitioning from an early stage venture to a scaled operating business."

"I am thrilled to be joining NoblePeak at such an exciting and critical phase of the company's development," said Mike Decelle, NoblePeak's new President and CEO. "NoblePeak's TriWave(R) technology has the potential to revolutionize the market for night vision imaging, rendering costly legacy approaches obsolete. I'm looking forward to taking NoblePeak into the next phase of its development."

Most impressive is the M100, producing an image seven feet wide or tall, depending on how it is oriented. The M50 and M30, meanwhile, produce head-and-shoulders sized images for conference rooms, store displays, restaurants, offices, and corporate lobbies. The M30 is portable and user-installable in a two-component box that is only 6" tall, while the M50 and M100 models include onsite installation by IO2 technicians.

All Heliodisplays produce a full-color, full-motion image, and can take input from any source, such as a laptop or a DVD player. Although the images appear to be holographic, they are actually generated from any content of the user's choosing, without requiring specialized custom content.

"Nothing beats the wow factor of an image hovering in free space. And now that image can be life-size, or larger-than-life," said IO2 account executive Julia Feldstein. Initial interest for IO2's larger displays has come from customers as diverse as restaurants, casinos, real estate developers, and government.

IO2 sells all its models, including the M100, directly worldwide. For more information about the Heliodisplay product line, visit the Company's website at www.io2technology.com, email sales@io2technology(.com), or call +1-650-583-5230.

AUSTIN, Texas - Dec. 14 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Bantam Electronics, Inc., a leading provider of high mix electronics manufacturing services, including custom systems manufacturing and supply chain management for emerging OEM companies and electronic products, today announced the addition of engineering design and new product integration (NPI) services to its customer offering.

In a move that further expands Bantam Electronics' ability to provide best-in-class high-mix manufacturing and supply chain management services to its customers, the company has added key pre-manufacturing services focused on helping emerging OEM companies reduce manufacturing design cycles, and, most importantly, shorten the time to first product shipment.

"We are very excited with the addition of these services," said Michael Chaddock, President and CEO of Bantam Electronics, Inc. Emerging OEM companies often do not have access to non-captive engineering design staff and resources to assist with critical phases of product development such as custom component engineering, prototyping, and design for manufacturing (DFM). "Making these services available enables us to help customers reach a manufacturing solution more rapidly-with fewer design, pricing and availability compromises-and begin building market share."

Bantam's engineering design and NPI services, which are the result of additions to the company's engineering staff as well as expanded partnerships, will provide the majority of resources required for hardware product design, testing, and manufacturing integration, including mechanical and electrical design, component engineering, DFX, test fixture design, prototype design, and prototype assembly facilities.

About Bantam
Bantam Electronics, founded in 1969, is a leading provider of high mix electronics manufacturing services to emerging companies and products-encompassing custom manufacturing and complete supply chain management of embedded appliances, industrial controllers, and computer-based systems for small- and mid-sized companies through the integration of its scalable manufacturing services, its extensive computer and electronic parts distribution network, and comprehensive logistics services.

Based in Austin, Texas, Bantam Electronics provides high mix custom system manufacturing and supply chain management, including warranty and RMA services, for leading companies such as AMD and Crossroads as well as emerging private companies such as NetQoS, Cortexa and JBM. In addition, Bantam has been named a Fastest Growing Privately-Held Company two years running and a Best Place To Work by the Austin Business Journal. After-Warranty Service Provider Partners with Manufacturers to Reduce the High Cost of Replacement Light Engines

NORCROSS, Ga. - July 9 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Hong Video Technology, Inc. (HVT), the leading outsource supplier of digital light processing (DLP(R)) light engine repair, today announced that it has surpassed 10,000 DLP light engines repaired. The milestone follows the recent completion of HVT's expanded and renovated electronics repair facility, which included construction of a large darkroom that more than tripled its capacity for alignment and testing of DLP light engines.

HVT pioneered a reliable DLP light engine repair process for Toshiba in 2005, and today repairs six of the most popular DLP light engines used for DLP televisions.

*(Photo Caption: At HVT, a darkroom is used for DLP light engine alignment. Photo by M. Williams.)

The high-quality repair provided by HVT offers a cost-effective alternative to purchasing and replacing defective DLP light engines with new light engines. With a reliable source for replacement light engines throughout the product life cycle, manufacturers can dramatically reduce the need for costly final buys.

"HVT forms an alliance with manufacturers to help them reduce the high cost of replacement parts. With HVT's innovation, these CE giants are able to reuse expensive components, like DLP light engines, that otherwise would be scrapped," attests Chris Fabian, a Consumer Electronics consultant.

"With the substantial cost savings, manufacturers can pass savings on to the independent servicers who support their products," Fabian added.

In addition to cost savings, repair and recycling of costly DLP light engines contributes to compliance with environmental legislation.

About Hong Video Technology, Inc. (HVT)
HVT is the leading outsource supplier of DLP light engine repair and recycling in the United States. HVT also provides repair, custom integration and rework services for printed circuit boards, LCD panels and newer electronic technologies. Customers include manufacturers, OEMs and dealers in the consumer electronics, retail, gaming, auto, marine, computer and other industries. HVT has specialized in electronics repair and remanufacturing services since 1994.
