Dr. J.L. Simmons, PhD
Author, and Content-Revision Specialist

Dr. Simmons has published eleven books and more than 100 popular and scholarly articles over the last three decades. These include the best-selling It's Happening which chronicled the massive social changes of the sixties and was quoted by Time and Newsweek, and 76 Ways to Protect Your Child From Crime in the mid-90s (a Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club selection, also translated into German and Russian).

As a professor of Sociology and Statistics, he has taught at U.C. Santa Barbara, U.C. Davis, and most recently the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL). He has co-authored several textbooks, including Social Psychology and Social Research.

Beyond his scholarly work he has written popular articles for such magazines as Grit, Modern Maturity, American Health, Unity, Child, and Parent's Journal. He brings his skills as editor and content-revision specialist to Neotrope/Send2Press projects and enjoys the challenge of enhancing every project he touches.

Dr. Simmons passed away April 1, 2003.

Jerry Laird Simmons passed away April 1, 2003.
A valued founding team member of Send2Press, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Nola, his sons Christopher and David, and brother Robert.
