STC-PMC Annual Conference - March 18-19, 2005 Great Valley, PA
Christopher Kojm of the National Book Award nominated 9/11 Commission Report will address the importance of the accurate technical information in the report and answer questions at an address scheduled for the afternoon of the conference. Pre-conference activities include a workshop on Visual Structure given by Jean-luc Doumont on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Penn State Great Valley Campus. For the second year, Governor Rendell has declared the week of the conference, March 13-20, as Technical Communicators' Week in Pennsylvania. Governor Rendell recognizes the vital role technical communicators play in the Pennsylvania workforce and has chosen again to annually honor all those who contribute to the field of technical communication. Registration in advance is advised, and information is available on the chapter website, www.stcpmc.org. Conference attendees can register and pay online for both the workshop and the conference. The conference is open to both members of STC, non-members and university students. Early registration discounts available through March 5! The Society for Technical Communication is an individual membership organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of technical communication. It is the largest organization of its kind, with the 18,000 members representing the specialties of technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, Web designers and developers, and translators.
