Digital Solutions Inc. Integrates M2SYS Biometrics Technology into Offender Management System for Distribution to Public Safety Industry
ATLANTA, GA - June 15 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- M2SYS Technology, an innovator in biometric technology research and development, announced it has finalized a long-term partnership agreement with Digital Solutions Inc. (DSI), a criminal justice and public safety automation industry leader, to integrate the M2SYS patent-pending fingerprint recognition solution called Bio-Plugin(TM) into DSI's Offender Management System(TM). The technology is now available to DSI's growing customer base of detention centers throughout the U.S., and has already been adopted by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office detention center; the largest in the southeast, processing 80,000 to 100,000 inmates annually.
Bio-Plugin(TM) enables software companies to immediately implement a complete, seamless fingerprint recognition system, including a high-performance 1:N identification engine. Bio-Plugin(TM) eliminates the system dependencies, extensive development, and specialized knowledge of biometric complexities inherent to fingerprint technology SDKs. This enables software companies to remain focused on their core product, while establishing a new revenue channel with the biometric component integrated into their systems.
DSI provides a PC-based facility management system for all aspects of facility operations. With the assistance of a dedicated M2SYS engineer, DSI rapidly integrated Bio-Plugin(TM) into its platform and provided the option for its use in a CITRIX environment. The fingerprint module allows jail officers to identify new inmates, authenticate visitors, track inmate movement throughout the facility, and verify identity prior to release.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has already selected the DSI/M2SYS fingerprint recognition solution for use within its 3,636-bed detention center. The facility is utilizing six M2SYS fingerprint readers - one at both the male and female intake areas and four at release. Inmates simply place one finger from each hand on the reader, and their record is automatically displayed within the DSI application.
