LiveRepair.com Provides Service to a Wider Range of Customers with the Purchase of Ask Dr. Tech
Published: Tue, 23 Aug 2005, 17:28:00 EDT
In March 2005, LiveRepair.com, a leading provider of online technical support services, acquired Ask Dr. Tech. The redesigned Web site and streamlined support process offer faster problem resolution and a better support service overall. The transition is fully completed and the results are clear: everybody benefited from this transaction.
THORNWOOD, NY - August 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Founded in 1999, LiveRepair.com today is one of the leading PC support solutions provider for home and business PC users alike. Building on its success in the support industry, LiveRepair.com decided to expand business and increase its presence in the home PC users segment.
Since 1999, Ask Dr. Tech has offered solutions for over 150,000 PC problems for thousands of satisfied customers. William Lam, the founder and ex-CEO of Ask Dr. Tech, defined the company's mission as to 'become the leader in providing faster, friendlier, and more affordable subscription-based computer support services'. This mission has a lot in common with LiveRepair.com's philosophy to 'increase the effectiveness of technical support while lowering the cost'.
As the result of the several-month negotiation process, Ask Dr. Tech has been acquired by LiveRepair.com, a rival company working in the same industry.
Since the acquisition, Ask Dr. Tech went through the support process remodeling. The new service is built on the proven platform of TekOffice, LiveRepair.com's online support suite. The troubleshooting process is aided by TekLink, a secure program that features the screen sharing technology and remote diagnostics tools. TekLink also allows the users to connect instantly to the Ask Dr. Tech helpdesk. Now, when the customers need help with their PCs, they initiate requests by describing the problem in the Ask Dr. Tech Web-based application. These inquiries are then routed to the support technicians. Now the support technicians may request a remote diagnostic check of the customers' PCs, of course upon the customers' explicit consent only. They can also launch the screen-sharing application for faster assistance. The online means are backed up by the traditional phone support for cases when the online tools are inaccessible.
Such new features as the screen sharing technology and remote diagnostics tools were introduced in the service of Ask Dr. Tech for the first time. Overall, Ask Dr. Tech subscription includes 24/7 support through online, phone, and email where technicians are standing by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help. With all that, Ask Dr. Tech aims at major decreasing of average problem resolution time and significant improvement of customer satisfaction rate.
Many loyal customers already expressed their satisfaction with the new support system. "That was easy! Thanks! I like this new format of instant messaging for technical help. It's easier on everyone," is just only a fragment of the positive feedbacks provided by new and existing Ask Dr. Tech subscribers.
"Five month past the merger, the positive feedback from Ask Dr. Tech members makes it very clear: the decision was timely and correct," says Larry Sheremetyev, LiveRepair.com's Director of Business Development, Marketing and Sales. "Acquisition of Ask Dr. Tech will allow LiveRepair.com to increase its customer base resulting in improved reach."
"Ask Dr. Tech has been proud to provide computer support service for over 5 years to many thousands of satisfied customers," says William Lam, founder of Ask Dr. Tech. "Now I am absolutely confident: the future is even brighter for Ask Dr. Tech."
"We at LiveRepair.com pursue every opportunity to become the world's most popular PC support provider. The acquisition of Ask Dr. Tech is yet another successful step on the road to our goal," adds John Becker, LiveRepair.com's President and CEO.
