The WEEE Directive, effective August 13, 2005, mandates the collection, re-use, re-cycling and energy recovery of electrical and electronic equipment at the time of its first disposal. Essentially, producers are responsible for providing take-back programs for all electrical and electronic equipment. WEEE will affect manufacturers, retailers, consumers and re-users of electrical and electronic goods. By partnering with Aegus Solutions, the Protex Global Environmental Team's focus is green procurement through the resolution of component engineering, data gathering, component substitution and a set of detailed Bill of Materials compliance assessment.
