Chicago Author Shines Positive Light on Meeting Through the Personals

Author Carrie Carr investigates the personal ad dating scene with humor and romance in her new novel, "Single Black Female"
CHICAGO, IL /Send2Press Newswire/ -- When Chicago author, Carrie Carr, decided to spruce up her life with a little excitement, she knew exactly what was needed -- romance, and lots of it. Armed with a positive attitude, she ventured into the world of personal ads. Her debut novel, "Single Black Female," mimics her own amusing experiences and fictionalizes the consequences of falling helplessly in love with a married man.
Though the main character makes a pack with herself to never date a married man, she falls in love with one, with disastrous and heartbreaking results. Carrie hopes women will be entertained by her novel and inspired in realizing that it's never too late for love.
About Carrie Carr
Like her protagonist, Carrie Carr entered the personal ad dating world with one guideline -- never date a married man. With that golden rule in mind, she placed an ad in the Chicago Sun-Times which she still recalls this day: "I dream of you. Slim, thirty-something, black female, playful and intelligent, in search of tall, independent and affectionate single male to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities with. Non smokers only."
Carrie's search for Mr. Wonderful ended when she married him in January 2004.
