Author Carrie Carr investigates the personal ad dating scene with humor and romance in her new novel, "Single Black Female"

Like her protagonist, Carrie Carr entered the personal ad dating world with one guideline -- never date a married man. With that golden rule in mind, she placed an ad in the Chicago Sun-Times which she still recalls this day: "I dream of you. Slim, thirty-something, black female, playful and intelligent, in search of tall, independent and affectionate single male to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities with. Non smokers only."
Carrie's search for Mr. Wonderful ended when she married him in January 2004.
