'Mo-Pro' Video Camera Technique Developed for Improved Mobile Screen Viewing

Denver Media Development Company to Produce Original Content Using New Mobile Profile Vertical Shooting Style
DENVER, CO (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Enable Agency (www.enableagency.com), a Denver area media development company, invents a vertical shooting style to make original video programming for mobile downloads. The new technique is called "mo-pro," or mobile profile, and was specifically created for better viewing on the small, rectangular screens of a cell phone or other mobile device.
The idea for "mo-pro" was born when working on a video display for the lobby of an executive office building. According to Bret Morstad, business principal, "The client wanted to hang three 42' flat screen monitors on the wall but only had a certain amount of space. We thought, hey, why not hang them vertically and just capture the images appropriately."
Morstad said their technical team was later developing video enabled WAPsites - websites accessed via cell phone - when it struck them that the vertical video would work perfectly for most mobile phone screens. "So we made the decision to create some high quality, original content to demonstrate the technique."
They will begin producing several series of themed vignettes using this camera technique. The first of the series will be a compilation of man-on-the-street type interviews titled "Computer Stories." These reality pieces will gather the good, bad, and ugly experiences people have with computer technology.
"We have several concepts in the pipeline," states Michael Koch, head of creative services. "But we chose to shoot the 'Computer Stories' project first because the subject matter works well for the small, mobile screen."
"The best quality viewing takes place when the subject fills the screen and there is little background movement." Michael continues.
The "Computer Stories" series, which will be shot in HDv, is underway and scheduled to be available by the end of April 2006.
