Melanie traveled for a year sampling churros in Mexico and Spain, looking for the perfect churro machine and the most authentic recipe she could find. The two friends worked and reworked the recipe until they were confident that they could produce the best churro in America. The first Churro Station(R) 800-square foot prototype store was opened in San Rafael, CA. in 2003.
