Software application brings power of enterprise-attendant consoles to small businesses
SAN JOSE, CA (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- VON Conference -- Small businesses with high call volumes can reap all the benefits of enterprise attendant functions without the need to purchase expensive attendant hardware, employing a cost-effective, seamless PC-based answering-position solution announced today by Allworx(R) (www.allworx.com).
The new Allworx Call Assistant is a software application for companies desiring to "live answer" incoming calls to better manage their phone traffic. Operators can easily monitor the status of every phone line at all times - including remote phones - and achieve pinpoint control over a large volume of call traffic. Unveiled at the Spring 2006 VON Conference & Expo, the Call Assistant seamlessly integrates with the Allworx 9112 phone or the new Allworx 9102 phone.
Small- and medium-sized businesses with high call volumes will be able to take advantage of a host of system benefits, including centralized call management; easily accessible standard call control functions all conveniently placed at the top of the screen; simple user interface; support for both VoIP and traditional CO phone lines; and a quick and easy installation process.
"Our new Call Assistant software bolsters Allworx's cutting-edge VoIP solutions portfolio and brings the power of enterprise-attendant consoles directly to small businesses," said George E. Daddis Jr., CEO and president of InSciTek Microsystems, Allworx's parent company. "With this solution, small businesses have another powerful reason to look to Allworx as the only supplier to SMB of affordable, state-of-the-art VoIP communications solutions that deliver unmatched ease of use and productivity."
"Allworx has developed a completely seamless answering solution for small businesses, specifically designed to meet the needs of both local and remote answering-position applications," said Jeffrey R. Szczepanski, chief technology officer, InSciTek. "In conjunction with Allworx's phone lineup, small businesses will benefit from our simple licensing model, which enables the monitoring of all calls and call transfer to other sites - easily and without any additional cost."
The Call Assistant achieves expedited call handling and simple call tracking through its main screen, which displays three work areas. My Calls shows all calls handled at the attendant's extension, Outside Lines highlights the incoming analog and VoIP line status, and Switchboard is a multi-function display for easy monitoring of live calls - including such key status indicators as call queues, parked calls, active calls and auto attendants.
Allworx's Call Assistant is designed to work directly with an Allworx 9112 or 9102 phone, Allworx 10x or 6x phone-communications system, and the Windows(TM) 2000 or Windows XP operating system. It will be available in mid-June 2006 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $950 for Allworx 10x customers and $650 for Allworx 6x customers.
