"The diversity of our newly elected board and the growth in our membership reflects Paul's success." Looking to the future, the key areas of focus for Mr. Desjardins and his Executive Committee will be growth through: sector diversity in IT, financial services, energy, life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare/medical, travel, tourism and hospitality, industrial production, and services; geographic diversity via broad representation from all jurisdictions within the primary geographic footprint of the NECBC; and building mutually beneficial collaborative relationships with other leading trade and business associations and academic and research institutions. "The United States and Canada have the largest and most diverse bilateral trading and investment relationship in the world -- the equivalent of $1.4 billion a day in goods, services, and investment income as well as in people-to-people contact," noted Mr. Desjardins. "I look forward to ensuring that the NECBC continues to be the premier U.S. business association focusing on a strategic relationship with Canada."
