A New Stationary Swimming System is Winner of the 2006 Outstanding Product Award

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Aug. 28 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The HomeSwimmer, a new, portable, stationary-swimming system developed by San Antonio-based HomeSwimmer Ltd., has received yet another recognition - the iParenting Media's 2006 Outstanding Product Award. This award is one in a line of many.

Earlier this summer, HomeSwimmer was a selected finalist at Germany's ISPO BrandNew Award - the largest worldwide competition for start-ups in the sports industry.

"We knew we were onto something, but we feel blessed at the response our product is getting from experts in the industry and end-users, alike," Claudia Berdegue, HomeSwimmer Ltd., president, said.

HomeSwimmer's innovative device allows residential pool owners, business travelers, coaches, physical-rehabilitation patients, and others, to use pools that are smaller than Olympic size, for fitness swimming. The device keeps swimmers in place during their workout.

The system, which can be assembled in less than three minutes, is designed to adapt to most pool settings. It is engineered to offer a comfortable and natural swimming experience to swimmers of all ages and proficiency levels.

The iParenting Media Awards selected HomeSwimmer from among hundreds of products as the winner for Outstanding Products of 2006 in the "Accessories" category.

"We evaluated wonderful items in our 'Outstanding Products Call for Entry,' but only the ones that exceeded the high-evaluation standards we set, earned the iParenting Media Award," Alvin All, CEO of iParenting Media, said.

The evaluation process created by the iParenting Media Awards program is extremely thorough and has attained ISO 9001:2000 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO); ISO is the world's largest developer of standardization regulations, and ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally-recognized standard of quality assurance. Only a fraction of the companies that attempt this certification achieve it.

Currently, there are approximately 8 million residential pools in the U.S.
