Film Buffs Get Ready for 20th Pan African Film and Television Festival (FESPACO)

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Sept. 12 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Filmmakers, producers, distributors, and fans will gather in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso for the 20th Pan African Film & Television festival, February 24 - March 3, 2007. The official travel agency for the festival, New York based Access Africa, Inc., is offering a 10-day air/land package on Air France.
 Organized every two years since 1969, FESPACO has grown to become the largest film festival on the African continent, and the leading authority on African films.
FESPACO provides an international forum for the distribution of African films, networking for filmmakers, and the exchange of ideas on films produced in Africa, and the Black Diaspora.
The general theme for the week long festival "African Cinema & Cultural Diversity" aims to focus on the influence of cultural mores on film production. Heated panel discussions will debate the merits of this concept.
Highlights include the International Film & Television Market (MICA), the market place for sales, and film distribution, African Documentaries, Short film competition, African Professional TV & Video competition, and African Diaspora competition/Paul Robeson Prize, an eclectic panorama of Africa & World films will be shown on multiple screens across the city.
Along with these activities, there will be side attractions like the arts & crafts vendors, entertainment galore, and the general festive ambiance akin to a cultural jamboree.
