Hospice Cremation and Funerals Offers Hope to Families in Need
Mon, 23 Oct 2006, 21:38:00 EDT
HARBOUR HEIGHTS, Fla. - Oct. 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A new company brings hope to those who need it...at a time they need it most. Officials from Hospice Cremation & Funerals, Inc. have announced the company has received IRS approval of a non-profit 501(c)(3) status and is now fully engaged in service. The first organization of its kind, the company is poised to be a 'God-send' for end-of-life patients who cannot afford dignified cremation or funeral services, often due to a financial draining of resources due to an extended illness.
The mission of Hospice Cremation & Funerals is to provide Hospice patients and other families in need with the financial resources for a dignified cremation or funeral service. While positioning the company to one day provide service on a national basis, Hospice Cremation & Funerals currently offers service throughout Florida.
"It's been said that one of the greatest gifts a loved one can provide is dignity at the time of death," comments Ron Nichols, CEO of Hospice Cremation & Funerals. "Unfortunately there are thousands of American families today who cannot afford a dignified service at the time of death. Often times the family has been literally drained emotionally and financially due to a long illness, and up until now has had no where to turn for help. This organization was created with a very singular purpose to assist those families."
Mr. Nichols knows all too well the pain that such circumstances cause a family at the time a death occurs. He and the majority of the company's founding board of directors have worked in the death-care industry for many years and have seen families turned away for service on numerous occasions due to financial restraints.
"We hope to reach out to those individuals who seem to have been forgotten. They have led a dignified life as mothers, fathers, grandparents, teachers, caregivers and veterans... and they deserve a dignified final disposition that their family can be proud of," continues Nichols.
As a non-profit organization, funding for Hospice Cremation & Funerals will be derived from corporate giving, personal contributions and fund-raising events. The company has created many levels of giving including the donation of in-kind goods and services.
"The amount we are able to help families in need is directly related to the support we receive from the community," states Tom James, President of Hospice Cremation & Funerals. "We believe that once corporations and individuals recognize that there is a substantial need that exists, they will be generous. Until now, this has been a subject that we as a society have simply not addressed, but that must change."
