CARMEL VALLEY, Calif., April 3, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Quail & Olive has launched its online store at www.quailandolive.com and will be offering newsletter subscribers 10 percent off their first order. Visitors can sign up via the Contact page and will receive a code for their discount. The website offers recipes and important information about the varieties of California-grown and produced olive, flavored and specialty oils and vinegars.
"The Quail and Olive team is having a great time collaborating and experimenting in our kitchens to create recipes for our new website," said Dr. Stephen Brabeck, cardiologist and proprietor. "For Spring themed gifts - birthdays, anniversaries and Mother's Day - I personally recommend Basil Virgin Olive Oil paired with Blackberry Balsamic vinegar that we can easily ship in a beautiful gift box. We have an amazing green curry slow cooker recipe on the site."
All of the vinegars carried at The Quail and Olive are grown and produced at the nearby Chaparral Gardens. There is a limited quantity of the exclusive Plum Basil Vinegar remaining.
The Village tasting room currently stocks California's Late 2012 olive oil harvest. Brabeck recently returned from a road trip to growers and olive oil producers, tasting and hand-selecting the varieties available at the Quail and Olive.
"This is the perfect time to enjoy California's new extra virgin olive oils in your every day cooking," Brabeck said. "Now at the height of their freshness, these oils have the highest polyphenol and oleic acid content and they taste great."
Researchers have found compelling evidence that oleic acid significantly reduces cholesterol. Polyphenols reduce inflammation of blood vessels.
