Also on the card: former World Heavyweight Champion Mitch Green, current WBE Light Heavyweight World Champion Carlette Ewell, a hotly contested match for the WBE Middleweight title, and a host of well known North Carolina heavy hitters.
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - July 26 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- At 8pm on August 13, 2005, the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem, NC, Ring of Dreams presents Fight Night, an event taut with anticipation and excitement. The Main Event will rock the house as undefeated heavyweight Moultrie Witherspoon (10-0), of South Carolina, steps into the ring to do battle with Ron Bellamy (14-2) of North Carolina in a quest for currently vacant World Boxing Empire (WBE) heavyweight world title.
Well known North Carolina favorites Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson and Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards will also square off against worthy opponents in the ring. Ladson will go up against Erick Starr of North Carolina, while the undefeated Edwards (16-0) will face Robert Marsh of South Carolina.
The fight card also features two female bouts. The fight for the vacant WBE World Middleweight belt, previously held by Bonnie Mann, now retired, promises to be a slugfest. It will be a re-match between Ijeoma Egbunine, originally from South Africa, and Alexandria Malloy of Florida, who met on July 16, 2005 in Greensboro, NC, with the match ending in a controversial split-decision. WBE light heavyweight world title holder Carlette "The Truth" Ewell will also fight. Two kickboxing contests will round out the evening. With a minimum of 7 fights on the card, set for 4 to 8 rounds each, this promises to be a thrilling event.
General admission seating is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Reserved seats are $25. Ringside VIP tables seating up to eight, with service and cash bar are also available through the Ring of Dreams office.
Tickets can be purchased directly from the Ring of Dreams website (www.ringofdreams.com), or by calling 336-201-0081. They can also be obtained through TicketMaster.com.
Bouts and boxers are subject to change. This event is sanctioned by the North Carolina Boxing Commission.
