DENVER, CO /Send2Press Newswire/ — InnocentEnglish.com, a new website dedicated to collecting and sharing humorous English mistakes, announces the release of its first annual “Top 10 Most Romantic Lines From New English Language Students” for Valentine’s Day.
“Any of us learning a new language is going to make a lot of mistakes, and a few are going to be funny enough to pass around,” said Bryant Oden, creator of the site and author of the new book “Never Lick a Gift Horse in the Mouth: And 400 Other Innocent Mistakes From New English Language Students.” “We thought in honor of Valentine’s Day we would ‘pass around’ this very romantic top 10 list.”
The list follows:

“The website and the book are really just a celebration of the lighter side of learning language,” Oden said. “I still remember when I went on a college mission trip to an orphanage in Mexico, and I enthusiastically greeted each of the children with ‘Buenos Dios! Buenos Dios!’ After some puzzled looks and a lot of laughter, a friend explained that I wasn’t saying ‘Good day.’ I was running around to each of these kids shouting ‘Good God! Good God!’ The laughter of that moment really broke the ice with the children, and I guess it left a strong impression on me. Since then, I’ve had an appreciation for the way innocent language mistakes can bring smiles and laughter, and just maybe make someone’s day a little brighter.”
Oden, who is from Colorado, currently attends the University of Alberta, where he is pursuing a Masters degree in Education. The new book, “Never Lick a Gift Horse in the Mouth: And 400 Other Innocent Mistakes From New English Language Students” (ISBN: 1-932738-13-4, Western Reflections Publishing, $10) is available through most bookstores, amazon.com, and through the website, www.Innocentenglish.com
