Area’s Top Designers Professionally “Deck the Halls” For This Special Show House Fundraising Event
NEEDHAM, Mass., Oct. 14 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Van Millwork, New England’s largest interior millwork specialist, is proud to host the third annual Festival of Wreaths which opens on Saturday, November 29 and continues through Saturday, December 13th. This open house fundraising event is bigger and better than ever with a new design competition element. The event takes place at the Van Millwork Showroom in Needham, MA and benefits the Room to Dream Foundation, dedicated to creating healing environments for children and adolescents facing chronic and debilitating illnesses.
The Festival of Wreaths showcases the talents of 11 area designers who will decorate the entire Van Millwork Showroom, transforming it in to a holiday show house. The holiday show house is open to the public for two weeks and ends with a black-tie optional Gala and silent auction on December 13th. The evening also features the announcement of the awards to the designers who will win under the following categories: People’s Choice (visitors can vote on-line for their favorite room at bostonmagazine.com/festivalofwreaths) Designer Award, judged by other notable designers; the Premier Award, judged by local and regional celebrities; and the Editor’s Choice Award, judged by Rachel Levitt, Home Editor for Boston Magazine Group, media sponsors of the event.
“This is our third year sponsoring this wonderful event,” states Jennifer Driscoll, Marketing Director for Van Millwork. “The Festival gives us the opportunity to involve the design community in a way that showcases their incredible talent all for a great cause. We’re excited to have a number of new components this year and also pleased to be able to have it open to the public for two weeks.”
Van Millwork, headquartered in Bellingham, has grown into the largest interior millwork supplier in New England. The Van Millwork Showroom is a first-of-its-kind facility, showcasing unique architectural trim, integrated with distinctive fabrics, wall coverings, flooring and light fixtures within nine architecturally-themed rooms. In addition to Bellingham and Needham, the company also offers a showroom in Mashpee, MA, and a full-service custom division in Fitchburg, MA. Additionally, they recently launched the Van Mantel Collection and hardwood floor division.
The Room to Dream Foundation focuses its services on children and families living in low and moderate-income urban and suburban areas. In order to complete each renovation, the foundation purchases all of the furnishings and supplies; every purchase is tailored to the specific needs of a child or family. Through a caring staff of professional and amateur artists, interior decorators, and volunteers, the foundation designs and transforms living spaces that give children and adolescents room to dream of a healthier future.
