Drinking and Drugs with University Life Lands Many Canadian Students in Trouble, says Narconon

TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — It’s obvious that heavy drinkers are at more risk of getting injured, and in fact 30 to 40 percent of heavy drinkers are getting injured. In 2004 one third of Canadian under-graduate students reported heavy drinking, and 16 percent of these students reported frequent heavy drinking. ‘The combination of binge drinking and illicit drug use has the potential of putting many of these students at a higher risk of developing an addiction,’ said Nick Hayes, a representative of the Narconon drug rehab program in Canada.
