Strengthening the Electric Transmission Grid Would Be a Boon to the Economy, WIRES Study Finds

WASHINGTON, D.C. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — A new analysis commissioned by WIRES shows that annual investment in new electric transmission facilities could soon reach $12-$16 billion in the United States, resulting in $30 – $40 billion in annual economic activity. This translates into support for 150,000 – 200,000 new full-time jobs in the U.S. in each of the next 20 years and between 20,000 and 50,000 new jobs each year in Canada.
