The event will commemorate and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations\u2019 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). All are invited to attend.<\/p>\n

Cincinnati-based D\u2019Souza is an expert consultant to the\u00a0State Department Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons<\/a>. He served on the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking under the last two presidential administrations.<\/p>\n

Youth for Human Rights International honored D\u2019Souza earlier this year, presenting him with its Human Rights Hero Award in July 2023 at United Nations headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n

Although the UDHR was adopted 75 years ago, current news reveals horrific abuses and violations of the rights enshrined in the document: poverty and hunger, human trafficking, religious repression and war.<\/p>\n

Scientology Churches and their members believe human rights education can change the landscape. They are inspired by author, humanitarian and Scientology Founder\u00a0L.\u00a0Ron\u00a0Hubbard who believed that \u201chuman rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream.\u201d To accomplish this, they sponsor one of the world\u2019s most comprehensive human rights education and public information initiatives,\u00a0United for Human Rights\u00a0<\/a>and its program for young people\u00a0Youth for Human Rights<\/a>. These nonprofits aim to create a sea change by teaching young people everywhere their inalienable rights, thus creating an entire generation of leaders who will demand full implementation of the 30 articles of the UDHR.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who do not know their own rights and responsibilities will not demand or defend them for themselves or others,\u201d says April Wallace, public relations officer for the Church of Scientology of Greater Cincinnati. \u201cSurveys show most people can name only a few of the 30 rights enshrined in the Declaration.
