Directed by award-winning filmmaker Gina Chin-Davis, who also stutters, \u201cStutterer Interrupted\u201d offers an intimate and humorous exploration of Nina G\u2019s life and career. Nina\u2019s material not only includes her experiences stuttering. She also jokes about her Italian-American background, growing up Catholic, body image and silliness she encounters.<\/p>\n

The film captures a behind-the-scenes look at Nina\u2019s filmed-for-broadcast stand-up set at the Alameda Comedy Club in her hometown of Alameda, California. The documentary intersperses Nina\u2019s comedy with interviews and archival footage, delving into her personal journey\u2014her early love for comedy, the challenges she faced due to her stutter, and how, with the support of a high school teacher and the stuttering community, she embraced her identity and pursued a successful career in stand-up.<\/p>\n

(Comedian), the San Francisco Bay Area\u2019s favorite female stuttering stand up comedian, is also a professional speaker, comedy history consultant, and the author of three books: \u201cBay Area Stand-Up Comedy: A Humorous History,\u201d \u201cStutterer Interrupted: The Comedian Who Almost Didn\u2019t Happen and the children\u2019s book,\u201d \u201cOnce Upon An Accommodation: A Book About Learning Disabilities\u201d that helps children and adults advocate for their rights as a person with a disability.
