\nIn its blessed 20 years of existence, Jubilation has traveled the world bringing joy and hope to the people. And in its gala concert, they will be paying homage to the memory to the fallen and of one of its original members: Ms. Rita Owens, mother of Dana Owens (a.k.a. \u201cQueen Latifah\u201d). \u201cRita was with Jubilation when we sang behind Dana at the 2010 Super Bowl and when Dana sang my arrangement of \u2018The Star-Spangled Banner\u2019 at the U.S. Open,\u201d Minatee shares. \u201cRita and I were close personal friends\u2026beyond the choir. She visited me many times in my home, in the hospital and during rehab sessions after my stroke. I am the Godmother of Rita\u2019s daughters Dana and Raven – promised I would take care of her girls when she left here. I have tremendous love and respect for her. At our concert, I am having Kim Armstrong sing \u2018Bridge Over Troubled Water\u2019 in tribute to my friend, Rita Owens.\u201d<\/p>\n
