The album, a collection of 12 works written by the composer in recent years, explores mysticism and includes instrumental works for ensemble, large orchestra and choral works. His works are performed throughout the U.S. and internationally.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.send2press.com\/wire\/images\/20-1012s2p-brian-field-works-696x522.jpg\" alt=\"CHORAL and ORCHESTRAL WORKS by Brian Field\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.send2press.com\/wire\/images\/20-1012s2p-brian-field-works-696x522.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.send2press.com\/wire\/images\/20-1012s2p-brian-field-works-696x522-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The jazz-flavored instrumental track, \u201cNine, Four by Four,\u201d opens the album followed by a section of choral works with English lyrics. The orchestral \u201cShiva Tandava\u201d completes the first half of the album and unlocks an exotic mysticism. Mirroring the opening, it\u2019s followed by the second section of choral works \u2013 this time based on Latin text.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeatitudines,\u201d a far-reaching work, sees the choir and a large orchestra conjunct. Two tracks for choir and organ close the Latin section leading the listener to the final track. A little gem, gospel-like song,\u00a0\u201cSweet Forgiveness,\u201d brings the album to completion in a coda-like style.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis compilation of 12 works showcases some of my more recent choral and large-scale instrumental\/orchestral works,\u201d\u00a0Fields, an internationally-acclaimed and renowned composer, says.<\/p>\n<p>The music is an eclectic fusion of lyricism and driving rhythm that brings together elements of post-romanticism, minimalism and jazz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApart from the jazz-influenced, \u2018Nine, Four by Four,\u2019 the works in this compilation embrace and celebrate the mystical.\u00a0In many cases, these are mystical elements of faith and in others the secular, though equally mystical reflections of life and memory,\u201d Fields says.<\/p>\n<p>The album features performances by esteemed musicians, ensembles and orchestras including the Budapest Symphonic Orchestra and Choir conducted by Peter Ill\u00e9nay; the Composes\u2019 Choir conducted by Daniel Shaw; the Lviv Philharmonic Society &amp; Chorus conducted by Ferdinando Nazzaro; and Heelan Chorale conducted by John Flannery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to have the opportunity to work with Brian, a truly rare contemporary talent and an all-around great person,\u201d RMN Classical music director, Romano, says. \u201cHe was the winner of our competition for new music &#8211; which is how we discovered him &#8211; and I\u2019m incredibly excited to release this album and showcase all his music ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guy Rickards, Gramophone, says, \u201cListening to [Brian Field\u2019s] First Quartet makes me want to hear more.
