This week is World Interfaith Harmony Week and the 2nd anniversary of International Day of Human Fraternity. These are concepts central to the Scientology religion. In the\u00a0Creed of the Church of Scientology<\/a>, Founder L. These interfaith activities take many forms, but the common theme is the importance of working together for the good of all.<\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s hosting a Day of Peace for the city\u2019s\u00a0Interfaith Council<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0Church of Scientology Sacramento<\/a>,\u00a0an interfaith human rights conference at the\u00a0Church of Scientology Melbourne<\/a>, or taking part in a virtual interfaith gathering in Nashville<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Pasadena<\/a>, the message is clear: working together, religions are a powerful and needed force in society today.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0Kansas City<\/a>,\u00a0Los Angeles<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Orlando<\/a>, to Milan<\/a>,\u00a0Budapest<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tel Aviv<\/a>, through the darkest days of the pandemic, Scientologists worked with other faiths on food drives and to provide\u00a0prescriptions and other essential supplies to those in need.<\/p>\n

When the pandemic struck, the Church of Scientology International encouraged people of all faiths or none to understand and apply the most effective protocols to prevent the spread of the virus by setting up the\u00a0How to Stay Well Prevention Resource Center<\/a>.\u00a0Educational booklets and dozens of videos in 21 languages make it easy to understand how to protect oneself, friends and families. Scientology Volunteer Ministers distributed\u00a0more than 10 million copies<\/a>\u00a0of these booklets in their communities.<\/p>\n

Volunteer Ministers from\u00a0England<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Panama<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Germany<\/a>\u00a0to
\nMexico<\/a>\u00a0helped houses of worship protect their parishioners by sanitizing churches, mosques and\u00a0gurdwaras. And protecting people of all faiths and cultures, the\u00a0Volunteer Ministers of South Africa<\/a>\u00a0have sanitized more than 68,000 buildings including government offices, army bases, municipal buildings, clinics, hospitals, orphanages, shelters, churches, and some 1.2 million taxis, buses, ambulances and fire trucks throughout all levels of lockdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cReligion is the first sense of community,\u201d wrote Scientology Founder\u00a0L. Ron Hubbard<\/a>\u00a0in an article titled\u00a0\u201cReligious Influence in Society,\u201d in which he announced the creation of the\u00a0Scientology Volunteer Ministers<\/a>\u00a0program in the mid-1970s. He described the Volunteer Minister as \u201ca person who helps his fellow man on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf one does not like the crime, cruelty, injustice and violence of this society, he can do something about it,\u201d\u00a0he wrote, and he provided tools to help anyone do so through 19 brief courses based on his research into the mind, spirit and life.<\/p>\n

These courses are available free of charge in 18 languages through the\u00a0Scientology website<\/a>. Called Scientology \u201cTools for Life,\u201d they are introduced by a series of videos also available through the\u00a0Scientology Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n
