We\u2019re ready to welcome the world to Birmingham.\u201d<\/p>\n TWG 2022, an 11-day event, follows the Summer Olympic Games every four years. The 2022 event will mark the eleventh World Games and only the second time in history it is held on U.S. soil. In 1981, the first U.S. event took place in Santa Clara, CA. This year\u2019s Games will be held in Birmingham from July 7-17, where over 600 medals will be awarded to more than 3,500 elite athletes.
