From May 21 through July 6, Le Portier Cognac will contribute a portion of online bottle sales proceeds to America's Gold Star Families. Consumers will also be able to support the organization directly through dedicated donation links shared across campaign materials and digital platforms.

As part of the initiative, Shannon Sharpe will visit military installations including Nellis Air Force Base and Fort Benning to spend time with active-duty service members and military communities. The visits are set up as private appreciation events centered on connection, conversation, and respect for those who serve.

"I have tremendous respect for the men and women who serve our country," said Sharpe. "These visits are about listening, showing appreciation, and honoring the commitment and sacrifice of military families."

The broader initiative will support awareness of America's Gold Star Families and elevate stories of service and remembrance during Memorial Day and beyond. Organizers emphasized that the effort was built from a personal commitment within the Le Portier team and is intended to be an ongoing effort rather than a one-time campaign.

"We are honored to partner with Le Portier Cognac," said Darin Funk, Executive Director of America's Gold Star Families. "Their commitment to community and remembrance makes them an ideal ally in our efforts to support and uplift Gold Star families nationwide."

The collaboration will support awareness and outreach efforts for America's Gold Star Families - those navigating the loss of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling in military service - while reinforcing opportunities for remembrance, connection, and healing. The initiative is intended to elevate understanding of their mission and highlight the experiences of families within this community.

Under the agreement, lender members can refer borrowers to The Zebra's platform to compare quotes from more than 110 carriers and purchase coverage before closing. Lenders receive compensation per qualified referral for actions borrowers are already completing as part of the homebuying process. The Zebra reports some borrowers have saved more than $150 a month on home insurance through its platform.

"Finding and securing the right homeowners insurance adds a layer of complexity in an already complex homebuying process," said Jodi Hall, president and CEO of The Mortgage Collaborative. "Partnering with The Zebra gives our lender members a meaningful way to support their borrowers through that moment with a trusted, transparent platform that makes it easier to compare options and move forward with confidence."

"TMC has built a fantastic community of lenders and vendors solely focused on creating better outcomes for borrowers as they navigate one of the largest financial decisions of their lives," said Fritz Merizon, strategic partnerships manager at The Zebra. "Partnering with them is a natural fit, and we're excited to help lenders give borrowers peace of mind knowing their investment is well protected with the right coverage at the right price."

Once a borrower is under contract, the process begins with a few questions about their needs and budget. They can then compare quotes across carriers or consult a licensed agent before selecting coverage. The Zebra delivers the declarations page directly and monitors for additional savings opportunities after purchase.

TMC lender members will have access to The Zebra's platform beginning June 2. Lender members interested in the partnership can contact their member benefits advocate. Lenders interested in joining TMC may contact referrals@mtgcoop.com.

LA JOLLA, Calif., May 20, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- In a move to significantly reduce lead times for critical diagnostic research components, AAAbio (AAA Biotech, LLC) has announced a major restructuring of its international logistics framework. By empowering a curated network of regional partners, the company is ensuring that its comprehensive suite of Elisa Kits and protein reagents is more accessible to the global scientific community than ever before.

This strategic shift addresses one of the most persistent bottlenecks in biomedical research: the delay in acquiring high-sensitivity assay tools. With the rapid pace of modern clinical studies, the ability to receive validated Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay within days, rather than weeks, can be the deciding factor in the success of a time-sensitive project.

PRECISION AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

The core of this initiative is the decentralization of technical support and product availability. AAAbio recognizes that researchers in different geographic regions face unique regulatory and logistical challenges. By partnering with specialized distributors who understand local market dynamics, the company ensures that every laboratory, regardless of location, receives the same high standard of service and product integrity.

Each authorized distributor in the business's network undergoes a rigorous selection process. These partners are not merely logistics providers; they are technical extensions of the brand, capable of providing on-the-ground support for complex assay protocols. This ensures that when a researcher utilizes ELISA from the company's catalog, they have access to a local expert who can assist with optimization and troubleshooting.

BRIDGING THE GAP IN PROTEOMIC RESEARCH

Proteomics remains one of the most challenging frontiers in modern biology. The quantification of specific proteins within complex biological fluids requires tools of the highest specificity. AAAbiotech has spent years refining its manufacturing processes to produce ELISA products that offer industry-leading sensitivity and minimal cross-reactivity.

By making these tools available through a localized distribution model, the company is facilitating a more democratic landscape for scientific discovery. Smaller research institutions and biotech startups, which may have previously struggled with the complexities of international cold-chain shipping, can now source these high-end reagents through domestic channels.

The updated distributor portal on the business website serves as a centralized hub where researchers can identify their nearest authorized provider. This transparency is part of a broader commitment to customer-centric service, allowing scientists to focus on their data rather than their supply chain.

COMMITMENT TO REPRODUCIBILITY

The "reproducibility crisis" in life sciences is often linked to the use of poorly characterized reagents. AAAbiotech addresses this head-on by providing extensive validation data for every product in its inventory. Whether a researcher is looking for sandwich, competitive, or indirect formats, they can be confident that the kits have been tested against rigorous internal standards.

"Our goal is to remove the guesswork from the procurement process," said the Director of Global Operations at AAAbiotech. "By strengthening our ties with local distributors, we are ensuring that the cold-chain requirements for our Elisa Kits are strictly maintained from our facility to the customer's bench. This level of oversight is essential for maintaining the biological activity of the antibodies and proteins included in our kits."

FUTURE-PROOFING THE SUPPLY CHAIN

As the biotechnology sector continues to expand globally, particularly in regions like Southeast Asia and South America, the demand for reliable diagnostic tools is surging. AAAbio is actively seeking to expand its footprint in these emerging markets to support the next generation of global health breakthroughs.

ABOUT AAABIO
Seventeen-year-old Garrett Jones, a member of Troop 4, in Vestavia Hills Alabama has achieved an extraordinary milestone by earning every merit badge in the Scouting America's premiere national leadership training program.

Not only has he completed the twenty-one badges required to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, which he hopes to achieve this May, but he has also earned all the 141 currently available merit badges. Garrett Jones is one of only ten (10) Scouts in Alabama known to have accomplished this feat and is among the six hundred Scouts, out of 130 million Scouts across the country, since the program's inception, to ever earn all the Merit badges offered, during his tenure in Scouting.

Scouting America's merit badge program allows Scouts to explore a diverse range of subjects, helping them determine if they would like to pursue these interests as potential careers or vocations. Many great leaders, innovators, and historical figures discovered their initial passions through the Scouting merit badge program. The diversity of knowledge and skills acquired is quite astounding- whether it is Citizenship in Society, Farm Mechanics, Artificial Intelligence, Welding, Hiking, Scuba Diving, Cybersecurity, Woodworking, or Nuclear Science - Scouts can explore a myriad of career interests and hobbies through this valuable program.

Jones began his Scouting journey as a Cub Scout in 2016 and graduating to Boy Scouts earning his Arrow of Light award in March of 2020.

"Initially, the pursuit of each merit badge was a fun objective where I got to spend time with my dad, but then as an older scout at 14, I had already earned over fifty. It then evolved into a personal & feasible goal that I wanted to challenge myself with." A few of the badges were mentally and physically challenging and pushed Garrett out of his comfort zone. "I learned that limitations are often self-imposed, because we base them on a belief, we have about what we can and cannot do." "Scuba diving was a good example of overcoming my fears and what I thought was a limitation of my capabilities."

Garrett said he and his family would often travel allot to attend a "Merit Badge University" or Merit Badge Day" held at a Regional College, School, or Church. Travelling to new places and spending time learning with other Scouts from other states was a big part of the adventure. I got to see allot of big and small colleges and met allot of interesting people." Garrett also attended several summer camps at Camp Comer and Sequoyah, hosted by the Greater Alabama Council, where they offer scouts the ideal environments, to earn many of the badges while attending camp. Toward the end of reaching his goal, he ran into natural limits where some of the more obscure and unusual Merit Badges were increasingly hard to find. He took some classes via virtual summer camps, online merit badge workshops and through virtual work with independent counselors. "I also took many Merit Badge classes online, with a small class, or even sometimes I had to work completely on my own with a counselor and a parent, remotely."

In February of 2026, Jones ramped up work on his Eagle project for Hand-In-Paw, a deserving non-profit located in Birmingham whose mission is to improve human health and well-being through Animal-Assisted Therapy, by providing professionally trained volunteer handler and animal Therapy Teams helping to improve people's day-to-day lives. Garrett has designed and is building a waste composting shed and providing small ground improvements for the animal and human visitors to the property. Garrett aims to fulfill the remaining requirements for his Eagle rank by the end of July.

As an Honor Roll Student in advanced classes at Vestavia High School, Garrett is a state-level competitor on the Track Team and enjoys playing music, has learned five instruments and leads worship in his local church's praise band. Garrett is a well-rounded, high-achieving young person who thrives on challenges, values service, and is eager to bring energy, leadership, and dedication to the next chapter of his journey. Currently, Garrett is considering attending Auburn University and has interests in studying Building Science, after graduating from High School in the fall of 2027.

Background information:

Nationally, Garrett is roughly the 650th Scout to achieve this according to the Merit Badge Knot Registry

Garrett is one of Eleven (11) Scouts that have ever accomplished this in the State of Alabama in almost 50 years

He is:

The first (1st) scout that has done this in the Vulcan District

The first (1st) Scout that has done this in Vestavia Hills

The first (1st) scout that has ever accomplished this in the 68-year history of Troop 4

Statistics & Perspective

- Out of the 130 million total Scouts, the odds of earning all 141 merit badges are about 1 in 200,000, highlighting its extreme rarity.

- This achievement is rarer than summiting Mount Everest, which has been accomplished by over 7,500 unique individuals as of 2025.Fewer Scouts have earned all merit badges than the number of people who have traveled to space, with around 700 astronauts having reached orbit by U.S. definit

The odds of a high school male basketball player going pro are about 1 in 3,333 (0.03%), but earning all merit badges as a Scout is over 60 times rarer at 1 in 200,000.
The report analyzes post-closing quality control data derived from the ACES Quality Management & Control® software.

Key findings from the Q4 and CY 2025 ACES Mortgage QC Industry Trends Report include:

* The overall Q4 2025 critical defect rate fell to 1.38%, a 22.91% decrease from 1.79% in Q3 2025, marking the first quarterly decline after three consecutive quarters of increases.

* CY 2025's average critical defect rate was 1.50%, essentially flat from CY 2024's 1.52% (-1.32%).

* Legal/Regulatory/Compliance returned to the top defect category in Q4 2025, rising 30% from 18.97% to 24.66%. This marks the second time it has led all categories since Q4 2024 and its third consecutive quarterly increase.

* Income/Employment fell from the top spot for only the second time since Q4 2024, declining 21% to 21.52%.

* For CY 2025, Borrower/Mortgage Eligibility climbed 291.58% year over year, and Credit rose 166.13%, reflecting a migration toward eligibility-driven defects as borrowers stretched to qualify in a constrained affordability environment.

* Refinance review share nearly doubled year over year in CY 2025, rising from 11.14% to 21.04%, while refinance defect share more than doubled from 15.30% to 32.20%.

* By loan product type, FHA defect share remained elevated relative to review share at 30.86% for CY 2025, and VA defect share rose for the second consecutive quarter in Q4, warranting continued segment-specific QC focus.

"Lenders ended 2025 on a strong note, with Q4 delivering a meaningful drop in the critical defect rate and the full-year average holding essentially flat versus 2024," said Nick Volpe, executive vice president at ACES Quality Management. "But the year's defining shift toward eligibility-driven defects as refinance activity returned indicates that disciplined documentation and consistent eligibility decisioning will define quality in 2026."

Findings for the Q4 and CY 2025 ACES Mortgage QC Industry Trends Report are based on post-closing quality control data derived from the ACES Quality Management and Control® benchmarking system and incorporate data from prior quarters, where applicable. All reviews and defect data evaluated for the report were based on loan audits selected by lenders for full file reviews. The Mortgage QC Industry Trends Reports are available for download, free of charge, at https://www.acesquality.com/resources/reports.
This July, Survivors at the Summit celebrates its 30th year -- a milestone that speaks not just to the longevity of an event, but to three decades of resilience, community, and hope in the face of cancer.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, up to 400 participants will gather at Brighton Resort in the Wasatch Mountains for the landmark event presented by Survivor Wellness, Salt Lake City's nonprofit dedicated to providing free services and support for cancer survivors and caregivers. Registration opens May 15 and sells out each year.

The story of Survivors at the Summit began in the summer of 1996, when the founding members of Cancer Wellness House -- a group of local oncologists, cancer survivors, and community advocates -- set out on a three-day journey to the top of King's Peak, the highest point in Utah. Carrying flags inscribed with the names of loved ones impacted by cancer, ten of the twelve cancer survivors in the group reached the summit. At the top, names were read aloud -- some into walkie-talkies so those at base camp could hear. Tears were shed. A tradition was born.

The following year, the event was officially christened "Survivors at the Summit," and in 1997, those same founders established Cancer Wellness House -- now Survivor Wellness -- in a donated home at 59 South 1100 East in Salt Lake City, offering cancer survivors something that hospitals of that era rarely provided: group support, counseling, yoga, meditation, and therapeutic bodywork in a welcoming, home-like setting.

By 1998, the iconic yellow Tribute Flags -- donated by Jack Kirkham of Springbar Tents and screen-printed by students at Skyline High School -- became the enduring symbol of the event, their bright banners streaming from mountain peaks with messages of love, hope, and remembrance. For the next 25 years, the Celebration of Life under those flags became a sacred annual ritual at Snowbird Resort. In 2024, Survivors at the Summit began a new chapter at Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, drawing its largest and most diverse crowds yet.

In 2025, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall issued a formal Mayoral Proclamation declaring the event day "Survivors at the Summit Day" in Salt Lake City -- an official recognition of the profound impact this community has made over three decades.

The 30th Annual Survivors at the Summit will unfold across a full day of mountain activities, community, and ceremony. The event is open to all ages and abilities and features: thousands of bright yellow Tribute Flags carried and displayed across Brighton's peaks; a moving Celebration of Life held beneath the Tribute Flag display; guided hikes, mountain biking, and rides on the Majestic Lift; live music, Mountain Breakfast and Summit Lunch; restorative wellness activities and nature walks; a Silent Auction and exclusive event merchandise; and transportation available from the welcome area to the main event.

Registration opened May 15, 2026. Tickets are limited to 400 participants and the event sells out every year -- early registration is strongly encouraged.

Early Bird Registration (May 15 - June 30):

General Admission -- $15

General Admission and Tribute Flag -- $30

Ticket price includes Mountain Breakfast, Summit Lunch, and one lift ride.

The new section aims to help consumers reduce overall spending on home improvement projects by making it easier to discover verified savings opportunities across a wide range of shopping categories.

In recent years, more consumers have shifted toward purchasing furniture, appliances, home improvement materials, and outdoor products through online channels. However, navigating large volumes of promotional information and finding legitimate discounts remains a time-consuming and often frustrating process. Valuecom stated that the new deals hub is intended to simplify that experience through a more organized and efficient savings platform.

The Summer Home Shopping Deals Hub covers multiple seasonal shopping scenarios, including home renovation projects, bedroom upgrades, kitchen essentials, office space improvements, and outdoor patio and garden setups. Consumers can use the platform to quickly search for updated discounts from various brands and retailers while staying informed about seasonal promotions.

"Summer is traditionally one of the busiest periods for home improvement and home shopping activities," said a spokesperson for Valuecom. "We want to help consumers spend less time searching for deals while providing a more reliable and transparent savings experience during major home purchasing decisions."

According to market research trends, consumer interest in online home shopping discounts has continued growing over the past two years. During seasonal promotions and major retail campaigns, more shoppers are actively searching for promo codes and limited-time offers to reduce household expenses.

Valuecom continuously updates promotional offers across major retail categories to improve deal discovery for consumers. In addition to aggregating discounts from popular retailers, the platform focuses on improving coupon usability and update frequency to reduce the frustration caused by expired or invalid offers.

Beyond traditional coupon services, Valuecom is also enhancing the overall shopping support experience through clearer deal categorization, faster brand search functionality, and seasonal shopping recommendation features designed to help consumers find relevant savings opportunities more efficiently.

As shoppers continue placing greater importance on pricing transparency and shopping efficiency, Valuecom stated that it plans to expand partnerships with additional home and lifestyle brands while further improving personalized savings recommendations for users worldwide.
PromoCodie, a U.S.-focused online coupon and savings platform, recently released new consumer trend insights showing how shoppers are becoming more strategic in their efforts to reduce e-commerce spending.

According to PromoCodie's market observations, more consumers are actively searching for promo codes, seasonal discounts, cashback opportunities, and limited-time offers before completing online purchases. What was once considered optional savings behavior is now becoming a routine part of the digital shopping process.

The report highlights that consumers are no longer only looking for luxury discounts or holiday sales. Instead, shoppers are increasingly seeking savings on everyday purchases, including household products, beauty items, electronics, clothing, subscription services, and travel bookings.

"Consumers today are approaching online shopping with a stronger focus on value and budgeting," said a spokesperson for PromoCodie. "People are becoming more intentional about when they buy, where they shop, and whether they can apply verified discounts before checking out."

One of the most noticeable changes identified by PromoCodie is the growing habit of delaying purchases until discounts become available. Many shoppers are now waiting for flash sales, weekend promotions, or retailer coupon events before placing orders. Others are comparing prices across multiple websites more frequently than in previous years.

The report also notes a significant increase in mobile-based coupon searches. More consumers are looking for discounts directly from their smartphones while shopping online, creating stronger demand for fast and easily accessible savings tools.

At the same time, consumers are becoming less tolerant of expired or misleading coupon codes. PromoCodie observed that reliability and transparency are becoming key factors influencing whether users continue using a savings platform. Shoppers increasingly prefer platforms that provide updated and verified offers instead of large quantities of outdated promotions.

Another trend highlighted in the report is the growing popularity of stacking savings opportunities. Consumers are combining promo codes with cashback offers, loyalty rewards, and seasonal sales to maximize value during checkout. This behavior has become especially common among younger digital-first shoppers.

Industry analysts believe inflation-driven spending awareness is likely to continue shaping online shopping habits throughout 2026. As consumers remain cautious about discretionary spending, demand for trustworthy savings tools and transparent pricing experiences is expected to increase further.

PromoCodie stated that it plans to continue improving its deal verification systems, expanding retailer coverage, and enhancing real-time offer updates to help consumers discover more reliable savings opportunities across major shopping categories.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 19, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Duke Energy Foundation announced it has awarded a $10,000 grant to The Jackson Copeland Foundation to help ensure families can afford essential living expenses following a blood cancer diagnosis.

The grant is part of a larger commitment from Duke Energy Florida and its Foundation to support the vitality of the communities the company serves.

"No one facing a blood cancer diagnosis should have to endure additional stress from the costs or logistics associated with treatment," said Duke Energy Florida state president Melissa Seixas. "The Jackson Copeland Foundation is doing so much to help alleviate that burden for so many families here in our area. It's an honor to support their important work."

"A leukemia diagnosis shouldn't mean a family loses their home while fighting for their life," said Jeff Copeland, Founder & CEO of The Jackson Copeland Foundation. "This generous grant from the Duke Energy Foundation allows us to tackle the affordability crisis of blood cancer head-on, ensuring patients can secure temporary lodging and travel to life-saving treatments without facing financial ruin. They should be focused on the fight of their lives, not finances or foreclosure. This partnership ensures nobody fights this battle alone-Jackson would go, and so are we."

There are only three National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in Florida, so hundreds of Florida blood cancer patients must travel to receive treatment each year. Patients receiving a life-saving bone marrow or stem cell transplant, in particular, must secure short-term lodging for up to 100 days during treatment and recovery, which creates a massive affordability crisis for most families.

The $10,000 grant will be used to fund "bridge grants" to low- and moderate-income families within Duke Energy's Florida service footprint who are battling blood cancer. This grant directly addresses those staggering logistical and financial challenges. By covering critical non-medical living expenses-such as primary housing maintenance (rent/mortgage), temporary medical lodging, and transportation costs-the funds ensure the affordability of basic needs during the most disruptive months of a patient's treatment. This rapid-response financial relief helps families avoid eviction, foreclosure, and bankruptcy, preserving their economic mobility so they can focus entirely on healing.
The awards program was created in 2017 and is a project of Arizent and Best Companies Group.

This annual survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the financial technology industry. Companies recognized on this year's list operate in and serve companies and consumers in a wide range of financial services, including banking and mortgages, insurance, payments and financial advisory.

"Earning this recognition for the fourth time is a testament to the exceptional people who make ACES what it is," said ACES CEO Trevor Gauthier. "Our most recent employee engagement survey confirmed something we're incredibly proud of: ACES ranks in the top 10% of U.S. software companies for engagement. Employees tell us they value our leadership's openness, the flexibility built into how we work, and the sense that their efforts genuinely move the company forward. This award reflects all of that, and it challenges us to keep earning it."

"Each year, the Best Places to Work in Financial Technology offers a glimpse into the workplace practices of fintechs whose employees rate them highly," said Penny Crosman, Executive Editor of Technology at American Banker. "This year, employees appear to value remote work, schedule flexibility and autonomy above all else, at a time when many traditional financial firms are enforcing strict return-to-work policies."

To be considered for participation, companies must provide technology products, services or solutions that enable the delivery of financial services. Companies must also have been in business for at least one full year and employ at least 15 people in the U.S.

Companies from across the United States entered a two-part survey process to determine Arizent's Best Places to Work in Fintech. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. +The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final ranking.
