Send2Press
Send2Press® was originally launched in 1997 as Mindset Netwire (mindsetnetwire.com), a division of Mindset, with the mission to offer an affordable alternative to expensive PR and press release promotion services. After a few technology hurdles, which ultimately led to the company purchasing its own Web servers, the Website launched publicly in 1998.

The idea was to utilize the expertise of our corporate media relations staff, freelance journalists, and an in-house programmer, to make an affordable press release distribution service that re-purposed our media contact databases — originally developed for our full-time corporate clients — as well as offering press release writing at one third of our corporate rates. We believed we could bring our corporate services down to the price point that any start-up company could afford, particularly since most did not require a full-time media representative.

Our differential was that we are a real media relations and marketing firm established in 1983, and not simply a "dot com venture." Within the first year, the business became profitable, as more and more companies discovered the value of our press release services versus other services costing up to ten times as much.

In late 1999, the Website name remained MindsetNetwire.com, but the distribution service name changed to Send2Press in order to more clearly develop a brand identity. The site contained a wealth of information including articles on why companies should use press releases, how to write a press release, and much more. Other articles on Web design and development were also included, as this was the peak of the "dot com boom."

In July of 2000, Mindset Netwire and DotComMojo™ merged and MindsetNetwire.com was redesigned to incorporate the Website promotion, keyword ranking, and search engine optimization services previously offered separately on DotComMojo.com. The Web design and development articles moved to DigitalAuthor.com. In August of 2000, Send2Press founder and president Christopher Simmons is interviewed by Jackstreet.com's "Jackstreet Live" Web radio show about the effectiveness of online-based press release distribution services, and public relations. During the same month Send2Press and ePublicEye (www.epubliceye.com) — the largest aggregator of customer satisfaction data on small and medium sized e-businesses — formed a strategic partnership to educate small e-business start-ups on how to benefit from online public relations, and to avoid sending "news spam."

In August of 2002, Send2Press was re-designed to more clearly market its service offerings, simplify the order procedure, and finally retire the original Mindset Netwire (out of date) content. Additionally, the DotComMojo services were once again segregated onto a separate Website in order to provide less confusion over what Send2Press actually offers.

Neotrope History
Our company was established in 1983 in Redondo Beach, California, as S.U. Graphics, and legally became Mindset in 1987. As of July 1, 2001, the company is now known as Neotrope^®.

Neotrope was founded by award-winning multimedia author, artist, photographer, and marketing guru Christopher Simmons to provide an affordable alternative to traditional high-priced advertising/design companies on the West Coast.

The company originally offered in-house 2-color offset printing, graphic design, commercial photography, plain-paper typesetting, copy-writing/editing, advertising and marketing, and public relations services. Today, many of those services are still offered (except in-house printing), along with services which embrace the new communication avenues such as CD-ROM/DVD, digital audio and video, and the Internet.
