Syntec Wins Accelerator Excellence Award at Annual Raytheon Supplier Forum
ROCHESTER, NY - September 8, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- At the 2004 Raytheon Supplier Forum,
Syntec Technologies of Pavilion, NY (www.syntectechnologies.com) was singled out for its
contribution to the Paveway II program, which is critical to US efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Raytheon recognized Syntec with its Accelerator Excellence Award. It was the only award of its kind
at the forum and one of only seven awards in total.
First selected by Raytheon in 2003 to assume selected manufacturing responsibilities for the
Paveway Program, Syntec enhanced and expanded its efforts throughout 2004. Within the first four
months Syntec conducted a full design review of 16 components, manufactured 16 new molds and met
fully integrated production needs, significantly increasing quality while lowering costs. As
production volumes continued to grow, Syntec was able to respond innovatively to additional
requests for cost reduction in two critical components, again without disrupting schedules or
impacting quality. Throughout, Syntec has delivered 100% on time with zero defects.
According to Paul Tolley, Vice President and General Manager of Syntec, "Being recognized for
results is a testament to the total team effort that everyone at Syntec and our subsidiary
Rochester Tool and Mold put forth in improving these products. While we were pleased to be one of
the 700 companies Raytheon invited to participate in its forum from its over 3200 suppliers, the
Accelerator Excellence Award is particularly gratifying since the end customer is not just Raytheon
but the men and women who serve this country so bravely and deserve our best."
He adds, "Our commitment to understand thoroughly all the design and cost considerations that
matter to our customers and why they matter is a major reason we were able to achieve the
improvements that won us this recognition. Because of this commitment, the forum we just attended
is opening up opportunities to help Raytheon Missile Systems accelerate in other areas."
