Wayne Anderson the owner and self-made cook has brought his culinary delight to Brooklyn Heights, New York with Alicia's Cafe & Eatery. The second of two restaurants, the first called Cafe Luise in Manhattan both named after a younger sister and his mother.
After a successful stint for 5 years as a florist, Mr. Anderson decided to change careers and pursue his love for cooking. Long hours of research and working for free at other restaurants owned by friends has brought well deserved success to the second opening of Alicia's Cafe & Eatery.
Offering a mix of American cuisine infused with a Southern and Caribbean influence, one can expect such dishes as Blackened Catfish with garlic whipped potato and sauted calaloo-Brazilian Fish Stew, Grilled Salmon, Smothered Pork Chops in a mushroom gravy rounds out some of the items you can find on the dinner menu.
Brunch/lunch is served all day from 10am-430pm on Saturday and Sunday. Shrimp and Grits, sauteed scallops with fried okra in a curry coconut sauce can be expected alongside eggs benedict.
