CARDLOGIX RELEASES NEW JAVA CARD™
FOR NEXT GENERATION WIRELESS AUTHENTICATION
NEW ORLEANS - Mar. 17, 2003 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- CardLogix, a leading provider of
smart cards and software, today announced a Java(tm) SIM smart card to make
development for wireless handset applications easier and more secure. The
CardLogix CLXSU256KH8/EG-JV smart card features a powerful embedded
microprocessor and the Java 2.1.1 Card Operating System. The card enables
operators to authenticate users and host a variety of interactive, graphical and
secure wireless applications. CardLogix made the announcement from the CTIA
Wireless Show, where it is demonstrating the card in Booth # 3734.
This card is the latest in a full line of microprocessor cards from CardLogix,
incorporating multi-function with a high degree of data security. The CardLogix
SIM card is in step with next generation 3G wireless requirements. The Java Card
development environment allows operators and third party developers to develop
and rapidly deploy new applications in response to consumer demand for increased
functionality, versatility and privacy. By 2004, a predicted 152 million Java
Card-enabled handsets will ship worldwide, climbing to 450 million in 2007,
according to the Zelos Group.
The card OS fully supports the Global Platform 2.1 and 3GPP TS 03.19 SIM Toolkit
Release 1999 applet standards and complies with GSM 11.11, 11.12 and 11.14,
including low power idle and power down modes.
