WHAT: A Mother’s Gift is a fun and interactive event designed to celebrate and promote the benefits of breastfeeding. Mothers, mothers-to-be, fathers and the whole family are invited to attend. The event will feature:

* Award presentation to Assemblywoman Nilsa Cruz-Perez for her efforts to expand civil rights protections to breastfeeding and require employers to provide daily breaks to breastfeeding mothers

* Local breastfeeding organizations and resources

* A speak out on breastfeeding and work

* Free gifts and giveaways

* Hot chocolate, pastries and other refreshments

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Babies who are exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of life are less likely to develop ear infections, diarrhea, respiratory illnesses and childhood obesity.
