NeighborWorks(R) America, Lenders and Counselors Participate in HOPE NOW Home Preservation Workshop to Triage Struggling Homeowners With On-the-spot Loan Modifications, Counseling and Financial Plans

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., March 28 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Philadelphia-area homeowners at risk of foreclosure will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their mortgage lender at the free HOPE NOW Home Preservation Workshop on Tuesday, April 1. Philadelphia is one of the early stops of this campaign offering the HOPE NOW workshops, co-sponsored by NeighborWorks(R) America, as part of a national tour aimed at giving struggling homeowners face time with their lender to develop a possible loan modification or financial plan to avoid foreclosure.

HOPE NowTuesday, April 1, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
University of Pennsylvania, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street (Free Campus Parking)

The workshops, which take homeowners an average of 30 minutes to complete, are free and open to the public, will offer assistance in English and Spanish, and include opportunities for homeowners to have a face-to-face conversation with a third-party advisor or their lender. The one-on-one meetings will provide the homeowner with a better understanding of their financial situation and options and in some cases will lead to work outs.

“These workshops are designed to help homeowners in trouble so they can walk out feeling more confident that they have a roadmap back to sustainable homeownership. Homeowners today are looking for trusted sources of information and the face-to-face counseling provided by NeighborWorks organizations is very powerful,” said Kate Colarulli, Program Manager for the NeighborWorks Center for Foreclosure Solutions.
