CHARLESTOWN, Mass. – Apr. 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — LineSider, Inc., a leading provider of software for next-generation business communications, today announced the appointment of Ken Ferderer as Chief Technology Officer. Ferderer was recently named a Premier 100 IT Leader by IDG’s Computerworld Magazine, at the annual conference and awards ceremony held March 4-6 in Palm Desert, California, and was profiled in Computerworld’s special Premier 100 honoree issue on December 11, 2006.

The award was based on his technology foresight and leadership as CIO at TelCove, a leading facilities based telecommunications company that was recently acquired by Level(3) Communications. In this role Ferderer led the complete rebuilding of the back-office processing environment for the company based on an industry leading Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Computerworld combed through a total of thousands of IT industry leaders to compile the Premier 100 list. Regarding Ferderer’s selection, Don Tennant, Editor-in-Chief, Computerworld said, “This year’s class of honorees is characterized by a diversity that demonstrates the value of unique backgrounds and approaches in building an outstanding IT organization. Yet what these individuals have in common is an expertise born of hard work and an intangible leadership quality they can tap to successfully champion IT not only as a business enabler, but as a business influencer.”

Ferderer’s career in information technology and telecom spans more than 13 years. Prior to serving as Chief Information Officer for TelCove, he was Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Priority Telecom — a telecommunications company headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Additionally, he has also held senior-level IT positions at companies such as Cignal Global Communications, Level (3) Communications, and PKS Information Services.

“I am very pleased to have Ken on board,” said Harley Stowell, CEO and Chairman of LineSider Communications. “His background as an enterprise CIO combined with his experience in the telecommunications industry, is a perfect combination for LineSider.”
