BOSTON, Mass. – May 5 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Renee Fry, Massachusetts Undersecretary of Economic Development and Director of the Department of Business and Technology, will deliver the luncheon keynote address at the New England-Canada Business Council’s (NECBC) 6th Annual Emerging Technology, Trade & Investment Conference (www.techtradeinvest.org). The conference will be held at the Seaport/World Trade Center, Boston, on Friday, June 10, from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., immediately followed by the luncheon.

As Undersecretary, Ms. Fry has played a central role in addressing key economic development issues including job creation, expansion and retention through programs such as expedited permitting for businesses and establishment of the innovative Business Resource Team initiative, a one-stop center to help businesses identify and access state programs and resources. As head of business and technology, she is also responsible for assisting small business, attracting new jobs, increasing exports and direct foreign investment, promoting travel and tourism and supporting minority and women-owned businesses.

The NECBC conference will also feature panel discussions on timely topics, including Partnering for Success through outsourcing, co-sourcing, technology transfer and traditional partnering — as well as Emerging Technology in New England and Canada, and Maximizing Value and Mitigating Risk with Cross-Border Venture Capital Financing.

Moderators will include noted Boston businessmen, Michael Cunningham of Harvard Computing and well-known author of B2B and Partners.com; Andrew Efstathiou, Program Manager at The Yankee Group; and, Leonard M. Gold, Managing Director and Partner, Burns & Levinson Canada Co.
