HOUSTON, Texas, July 30, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Cogent Technology Group, Inc. announced today that YEP Energy has engaged Cogent to implement YEP Energy’s utilization of Cogent’s Sales Commission Manager (SCMOnline) software service to support its growth of natural gas sales in California and other states. Their SCMOnline solution provides a means of managing the residual sales commissions that flow as ongoing streams of compensation to their independent brokers and sales agents for completed energy-service contracts.
Cogent’s SCMOnline software service will be used by North Star Gas Company, LLC in California, Pennsylvania and other markets as YEP Energy expands into them.
From their base in Houston, YEP Energy serves residential and commercial customers in energy markets across the country. The company’s Retail Marketing Division wanted a turn-key approach to accurately calculating and recording commission amounts that are payable to their brokers and sales agents and are based on the customer’s energy usage over time. With Cogent’s SCMOnline software service, YEP Energy expects to proactively manage the variability of the commission compensation function.
Cogent’s SCMOnline solution is available as a software service hosted in their Atlanta data center. The full-featured service, which offers a wide range of capabilities and an easy-to-use interface, periodically consumes updates of the energy marketer’s CIS/Billing data and calculates commissions as the underlying energy-usage changes. SCMOnline manages the commission function regardless of the frequency of commissioning events or the complexity of the commission methods.
