SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., April 29, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Workforce Investment Board of San Bernardino County announced today the induction of Tony Myrell, Jon Novack, and Dr. William Sterling as chairman, vice chairman, and treasurer of the board respectively. The County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board is a public-private volunteer board that oversees the use of federal dollars to train the local workforce to support local employers.

Tony Myrell, elected as the new Workforce Investment Board Chairman, is the Chief Executive Office and Owner of Premier Medical Transportation. Premier Medical Transportation is a company providing non-emergent transportation services in the Inland Empire. He has more than 30 years of experience in the home health care industry and has been the founder and Chief Executive Officer of three successful home medical equipment businesses. In addition to his extensive business knowledge and success, Myrell is highly involved in the regional business community serving as President of the Colton Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the San Bernardino Community Hospital Foundation Board and as a member of the County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board.

Jon Novack is the President and Co-owner of Patton Sales Corporation, Southern California’s premier steel service centers and will serve as the vice-chairman of the Workforce Investment Board. Novack has been a member of the County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Board for three years and during this time held roles as Chairman of the fiscal committee and Chairman of the Economic Development Committee. He also serves on the board of the California State University, Fullerton Family Business Council.

Dr. William Sterling will serve as treasurer for the Workforce Investment Board. Dr. Sterling is the president of Sterling Synergy Systems, Inc., which provides business and technical consulting services, and is also president of BCM Group, Inc. which provides program and construction management for building schools and public facilities. Dr. Sterling was appointed to the Workforce Investment Board in 2011.

“By assessing the needs of growing industry sectors, the Workforce Investment Board is placing residents in jobs,” San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chair Janice Rutherford said. “In a single year, 3,300 job seekers were trained to enter careers in high-demand sectors and 2,800 businesses were assisted through Workforce Investment Board programs.”
