Reality show celebrities reappear on The Alex Jones Show for second discussion on the Sept. 11th "inside job."

AUSTIN, Texas, July 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Reality TV celebs Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag spoke to broadcaster Alex Jones on his nationally syndicated radio/TV show, "The Alex Jones Show," about how Alex's video documentaries had awakened them to alleged government-sponsored terrorism, microchips, and the New World Order.

Pratt and Montag poured over Jones' prolific work, waking up to the charade of a two party system and other claimed deceptions being perpetrated on the American public. They were particularly impressed with Alex Jones' films "Endgame" and "TerrorStorm" that outline the global elitists' plan for total domination and a global police state.

Last week, a Twitter frenzy between Heidi Montag and Miley Cyrus erupted - the two discussed infowars in an attempt on Montag's part to wake Cyrus. Miley expressed her lack of knowledge on the subject but had genuine curiosity about Alex Jones and Infowars.com. The 'Tweet' instantly went viral, grabbing the attention of Alex Jones who immediately invited the couple onto his show.

On the The Alex Jones Show, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag acknowledged the vital information Jones circulates and admitted their new obsession with Infowars.com.

"I don't even listen to the mainstream media anymore. I go on Infowars.com almost every day now!" said Heidi Montag.

Alex Jones addressed the use of celebrity to convey his message by stating, "When it comes to waking up the media saturated public, we will use any tool available. Luckily the truth speaks for itself and celebrities infected by it have no choice but to join us."

After talking to the young couple, it became obvious that previous media attention they had garnered and slanderous campaigns directed their way were merely part of an agenda to keep America focused on trivial celebrity factoids instead of real stories about our government's tyrannical actions at home and abroad.

"How are we so famous when the Climate Bill [HR 2454] isn't even a trendy topic on Twitter?" asks the perplexed Pratt. "The only thing people should pay attention to is Infowars.com. We're sorry we distracted you America - these other issues are way more important."

In a final note at the end of the show, Pratt and Montag exclaimed "Death to the New World Order!" along with Alex. Pratt and Montag both promised to be good soldiers in the infowar.

Alex Jones is a nationally syndicated broadcaster and documentary filmmaker whose critically acclaimed documentaries include such titles as, "The Obama Deception," "Endgame," "TerrorStorm," and "Martial Law." An alternative media icon, he is frequently cited to be the leader of the September 11th Truth Movement.
REDONDO BEACH, Calif., July 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Christopher Simmons' "Fractopia" (ISBN: 978-0-9710555-0-6, hardcover - limited edition, Neotrope Press), collects the best of Simmons' abstract images created by combining fractal imagery with photographic effects, textures and hand-applied layers. This special edition includes a video DVD with slide show of all images found in the book. Some of the art has been called sexual in nature, including the piece called "godheart."

"When these images appeared in art installations more than a decade ago, many thought I was intentionally trying to create impressions of the female womb with at least two of the illustrations," said Simmons. "This was not the goal; but the first such piece called 'godheart' does appear similar to a womb, but also an all-seeing eye, with both electric and metallic textures. This impression led me to the name of the piece. A later piece, 'spiralasm,' does convey an intentional sense of the organic and the orgasmic."

Simmons' "Fractopia" series images have been featured in such venues as the "Bytes of Art" gallery shows that were hosted throughout San Francisco in 1997; the Cosmic Cafe online art gallery in 1996-7; and the first image in the series, 'balls in sandtrap,' was used as the full color cover for the 1997 California State University Long Beach (CSULB) Science and Technology course catalog.

"My favorite images are actually first, 'fireonice,' which to me seemed to imply a ghostly figure caught between the realm of fire and energy, and the extreme cold that can freeze thought and movement. This is also the cover of the book. I also used this image for the cover of my 2000 music CD release 'Beserker.' And my second favorite is called 'prayer bubble,' which appears to be two hands moving through water, filled with fractal bubbles, holding a sphere. This was loosely inspired by my wedding photos showing hands touching, which is why it was dedicated to my then spouse, Paula."

Christopher Laird Simmons is an award-winning graphic designer, photographer, musician, and digital imaging professional. He has created original images for national magazine covers, product packaging, and managed diverse brand identity projects for more than 25 years. His first computer-based artwork was done for the Adventure International game "Stone of Sisyphus" in 1983, programmed by his younger brother, David.

Simmons is also a respected marketing guru and technologist, who has been interviewed by publications as diverse as Entrepreneur, PC World, Chicago Post-Tribune, and TrendWatch; and is one of the experts quoted in the book "Career and Corporate Cool" by Rachel C. Weingarten. He is the CEO of Neotrope®, and is a member of PRSA, and ASCAP.

"I created these images in a creative rush during the mid nineties," added Simmons, "and Adobe Photoshop was my palette for these visions, along with filters from Kai Krause and John Knoll. I tried to take the chaos theory behind fractal imagery then combine that with deep colors and organic sensibilities to create something unique; finding and massaging shapes and patterns within the fractal elements and color gradients."

FRACTOPIA™, the limited edition, ISBN-13: 978-0-9710555-0-6, is published in hardcover with slip cover; full color throughout, with video DVD. Size is approximately 9x11.5 inches. Price is $39.95 plus shipping.

Entries range from the "I had to leave my ferrets behind when I moved to California" to creative ferret disguises. According to the organization: "But the pain is evident, we love our ferrets and we want to be able to move freely about with them."

LegalizeFerrets.org is conducting an Environmental Impact Report as required from the California Department of Fish and Game. Their mailing list and support continue to grow and the video contest is a great expression of the hope, pain and fear California ferret enthusiasts live with.

LegalizeFerrets.org is a grass roots organization working to legalize ferrets in California. Ferrets are illegal in only two states, California and Hawaii. The ban has caused a huge emotional toll on ferret owners in California and ferret owners who find themselves moving to the state.

According to PIJAC, the nation's leading pet trade organization, California has the nation's largest population of pet domestic ferrets - yet California has resisted efforts to legalize them.

Over the past three years Legalize Ferrets has continued to grow and is now working on an Environmental Impact Report. "We believe that scientific research combined with grass roots activism will get our little guys legalized."
MESA, Ariz., June 29 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- As the unemployment rate climbs to over 9 percent (according to Bureau of Labor Statistics, The Employment Situation: May 2009), many financially strained families may feel pressure to send their young children to preschool. Authors Renee and Mike Mosiman help those parents who choose not to send their young children to school in their new book, "The Smarter Preschooler: Unlocking Your Child's Intellectual Potential" (ISBN: 978-0-9816426-5-9).

The authors provide practical advice to parents, supported by the latest research, about boosting their child's intellect. Their user-friendly book demonstrates how parents can help their children build verbal skills, enhance analytical abilities, and develop early reading skills that set the stage for success in elementary school. The authors also address such topics as how and what to read to a youngster, how different types of play impact early development, and the best environment for preschoolers to develop social skills with their peers.

Even parents who choose to send their children to preschool can benefit from the findings presented in The Smarter Preschooler. The authors believe "Each child has special gifts, and it is the parent's job to cultivate a child's talents and strengthen his or her weakness." They offer many strategies for providing an enriched environment for the intellectual and social development of young children. And experts agree with their advice.

Shirley Wyver, PhD, said: "This is a fabulous book ... that will enhance the quality of parent-child interactions and ultimately provide the best opportunities for intellectual, social and emotional development."

Cathy Duffy Reviews: "Plenty of practical suggestions and resource recommendations show parents how to create an intellectually stimulating environment at home that promotes healthy academic, social, physical, and emotional development."

"The Smarter Preschooler" (ISBN-13: 978-0-9816426-5-9) will be available in book stores nationwide September 1, 2009 for $14.95 and can be purchased today at www.TheSmarterPreschooler.com. Media review copies will be provided upon request.

Co-author Renee Mosiman has a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She worked in a clinical setting with children before she began her own family. Mike Mosiman, an aerospace engineer, put his research and writing skills to good use in crafting "The Smarter Preschooler" for the benefit of other parents.

But Shaberman also reflects on his Jewish heritage, Pink Floyd concerts, fornicating grasshoppers, and being chased by wild dogs.

"The Vegan Monologues" collects Shaberman's essays in a first book that will put a smile on the faces of tofu-huggers and meat-eaters alike. From social absurdities to his own foibles, Shaberman balances reflections on life as a vegan with, well, just life.

Shaberman is a well-established essayist and commentator with articles in a number of prominent publications, including The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, The Des Moines Register, VegNews, and Vegetarian Times. He also has been heard on National Public Radio.

"Smart, wry, and just a bit cynical, Shaberman parlays a unique sense of humor into a readable book that elucidates the joys-and tribulations-of the meat-free lifestyle," said Aurelia d'Andrea, editorial director at VegNews Magazine.

According to "Vegetarianism in America," a 2008 study conducted by Vegetarian Times, 3.2 percent of adults in the U.S., or 7.3 million people, are vegetarian. The study further indicated that 1 million of those vegetarians are vegans, people who consume no animal products at all.

"It's a growing community," said Shaberman, who lists Dave Barry and Garrison Keillor as influences. "My appreciation for animals and the environment are common themes. And though I write about vegan-related experiences, my observations are often universal."

"Ben's warm writing takes equal aim at social absurdities and his own vulnerabilities," said Aaron Henkin, a co-producer at WYPR (NPR in Baltimore). "This book is for all of us who find ourselves searching for meaning in the routine triumphs and disappointments of our everyday lives."
NEW YORK, N.Y., June 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Nearly 20 years after leaving cult band The Lemonheads to return to college and "try to become a grown up," co-founder and certified grown up Ben Deily has come full circle: his new band Varsity Drag makes their New York City debut this Thursday at the Bowery Ballroom, sharing the bill with old friend Evan Dando and The Lemonheads.

"I'm really happy this is finally happening," said Deily. "Ever since stepping back a bit into music, I've been hoping that Evan and I would be able to get our paths to cross - or at least near-miss onstage. It's a great way to finally reach New York with Varsity Drag and even better that it's with Evan."

The Lemonheads are currently on tour in support of their new album "Varshons," an ambitious and eclectic album of covers selected by Dando and producer/indie music legend Gibby Haines (B*tthole Surfers) and featuring guest vocals from surprising luminaries as Dando friends Liv Tyler and Kate Moss.

"I'd have come down anyway to hear Evan do the stuff off Varshons, which is a fantastic record," adds Deily. "Getting to be a part of the onstage action, well, that's just gravy."

"More than anything else, I'm looking forward to playing my newest songs for Evan and finding out what he thinks. After 27 years, you can really get a sense of someone's musical taste and judgment...and Evan's is solidly in my top three." Deily laughs. "I mean, well, obviously." (And no, he's not revealing the other two.)

About Varsity Drag: Deily's new band performs music that has been described as "luscious, beautifully abrasive, powerful pop" and "pop-punk for grown-ups." The power-trio consists of Deily, long-time collaborator Joshua Pickering and self-taught bass player Lisa Marie (who just happens to be Deily's wife). They are promoting a live album recorded during their recent European tour, "Rock & Roll Is Such a Hassle: Varsity Drag Live in Europe" due for release on July 13th through the U.K.'s BossTuneage label. The album features, along with new songs, a generous smattering of Deily's old Lemonheads standbys.

"Most of those songs hadn't been heard or played in decades," explains Deily. "When we hit Europe, there was what you might call some real 'pent-up demand' for my old catalog...now they're an important part of our set."

"I'm looking forward to getting to play those tunes again for Evan, who helped bring them into existence in the first place."

Varsity Drag has an all-new studio album (a follow-up to their 2006 debut, "for crying out loud") scheduled for release in October, coinciding with a tour of the U.K. "All in all, this is a really exciting time for us," concludes Deily.

HOUSTON, Texas, June 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- From ashes to diamonds: Algordanza, a Switzerland-based company, memorializes deceased loved ones through the creation of innovative memorial diamonds. Algordanza's memorial diamonds are the result of a finely-tuned process whereby the ashes or hair from a deceased loved one are turned into genuine human diamonds that will last forever. It's a unique way for the bereaved to remember those who meant so much to them when they were alive.

"Recently, a woman in Austin, Texas had a diamond made from her father's remains," Jared Parrish, director of sales and marketing for Algordanza, says. "The diamond was set in her engagement ring so her father could still walk with her down the aisle."

Algordanza's memorial diamonds are absolutely unique and are solely generated from cremation ashes or hair. Each production step is completely documented, and upon completion, the diamond is presented with a certificate of authenticity along with a chemical analysis of the ashes.

"What sets us apart from other companies that offer this service, is that our diamonds are genuine," Jared Parrish, director of sales and marketing for Algordanza, says. "We do not use any chemical additives which makes these natural, not synthetic diamonds."

While mined diamonds require hundreds of millions of years to age, Algordanza's lab-grown gems typically take only a few months to form. The largest one offered is a full carat and takes up to one year.

So, how does it work? Carbon, chemically drawn out from the ashes or hair, is compressed into graphite in a high pressure, high temperature-growth environment. The graphite undergoes the same process leading to rough crystallized diamonds which are then cut and polished.

The memorial diamond varies in color. Primarily, white, it may sometimes have a bluish tint, depending on the quantity of the element boron within the carbon. Just as no two human beings are alike, no two stones are identical.

About Algordanza

Founded in 2003, Algordanza is headquartered in Chur, Switzerland. Algordanza is a word derived from the ancient language Rhaeto-Romanic, meaning "remembrance." Currently, the company is represented in 17 countries with a goal of being present in all countries on all continents.
LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 22 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Tweens, teens and adults alike have been anxiously awaiting the sophomore season of the wacky politically-incorrect comedy with a heart, also known as Poor Paul, produced by Eye Scream Films. These same fans are also excited for the premiere of the Disney Channel's Princess Protection Program which happens to star Poor Paul's Kevin G. Schmidt (Young and the Restless, Cheaper by the Dozen) and Samantha Droke (Suite Life of Zack & Cody).

Why are fans of squeaky-clean Disney idols watching Poor Paul? Most likely because they're not supposed to be. Who didn't get a thrill out of sneaking into an R-Rated film as a kid? That, and the fact that Poor Paul is an intelligent, well-written and acted comedy that isn't afraid to take chances. According to Tubefilter's Lindsay Stidham: "Poor Paul's strengths undoubtedly fall in its willingness to be wacky. To that, I say wack-it-up."

YouTube user "BestFanOfMiley" said "Seriously... I can't stop laughing! I hope there will be a second season... Pleeeeease" Another, jobrosfan26 said, "Awesome videos... I've watched every single one... they are amazing... keep up the great work!" Finally, "disneychannelfan2332" posted "I love all of the characters and are you doing more episodes?"

Paul lives vicariously through his own video blog and creates hilarious fantasies to escape the stresses of real life. His roommates are the over-achieving "I'm better than everyone" Justin (Schmidt) and Clyde, the OCD womanizing alcoholic. A frequent visitor is Clyde's adopted sister Bonnie (Droke), who has a crush on Paul. Their quirky chemistry all contribute to the guilty pleasure of Poor Paul.

Poor Paul's second season has also attracted some high-profile guest stars including Guillermo Diaz (Half Baked, Chappelle Show, Weeds), Elaine Hendrix (The Parent Trap, Joan of Arcadia), Mandy Jiroux (Miley Cyrus' BFF, Miley-Mandy Show) and returning as the lovable and eccentric Grandpa Paul, character actor Richard Riehle (Office Space, Grounded for Life).

"I had so much fun doing it, I would love to do more..." said Diaz after wrapping production. On Twitter, Jiroux tweeted, "Great guys, great actors, great show!"

Poor Paul is a 2009 Webby Award Honoree and stars Kevin G. Schmidt, Samantha Droke, Wes Whitworth (who replaces Nicholas Braun in the role of Clyde) and Zack Bennett as Paul; with Palmer Scott (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job) and Poor Paul director Sean Michael Beyer as Mr. Ted.

New episodes will be released Tuesdays at 1 p.m. EDT / 10 a.m. PDT, beginning June 23, 2009 @ www.PoorPaul.com as well as YouTube.com and KoldCast.TV in HiDef.

Poor Paul is an Eye Scream Films production, written by Geoff Hoff and Steve Mancini, produced by Yousef Abu-Taleb (Lonely Girl 15) and directed by Sean Michael Beyer.
DENVER, Colo., June 19 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Author and retired detective, Jim Benish, announces the release of a new book, "Closed Eyes: Who's Killing Our Children?" (ISBN: 978-0-982-4249-0-2). In the book, the author examines the murder cases of two Colorado children - Tracy Neef and Alie Berrelez - and discovers striking similarities to the JonBenet Ramsey murder. He discusses a possible suspect and explains the connections.

In 1993, Benish worked for the Thornton Police Department in Thornton, Colo. At this time, he reopened the Neef file; a murder that took place in 1984. After some investigation, he discovers that the initial suspect was cleared without due reason. However, Benish learns that the investigation was peppered with inexperience and error.

As the author digs deeper into files, he begins to draw connections. He learns that welding particles were on the victims' bodies and clothing; the suspect in the Neef and Berrelez cases was a welder. Benish also discovers that the suspect had been arrested or seen in close proximity to all of the crime scenes.

"Almost one year ago, the Ramsey family was eliminated as suspects," Benish says. "This suspect is still at large and the jurisdictions in charge need to combine their efforts to yield resolution."

Benish strongly believes that this suspect is a serial offender and is the key to solving these cold cases.

"The public has a right to know," Benish adds. "It's very possible that this suspect continues to prowl the neighborhoods. Since 2002, he's been arrested and convicted of another sexual crime; he's finally on the Colorado Sexual Offender list. To date, he has only been revealed to be a person of interest or suspect on the Neef case."

About the Author

Jim Benish has worked as a police officer and detective; he has what he calls a "cop's sense of criminal reality" and he believes that these murders have been committed by this suspect. Throughout his career, he has written or reviewed thousands of crime reports and is proficient at recognizing and combining the elements of a crime with witness statements that many times resulted in the arrest of the perpetrator.
TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec, June 17 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Narconon drug rehab program has just put together a small trailer of a very compelling and emotional interview of a former addict, now 11 years clean, and her baby sister. With the full release of the video to come out within the coming days, this sixty-second trailer gives a glimpse of this powerful interview. Filmed in Montreal, Canada, Sabrina started using drugs at a very young age, and prior to her drug use she was also a runaway. Her baby sister, who was very young at the time, was left not knowing where her sister was, or when she was coming home.

"I didn't know where she was," comments Sam in the full interview, "where she went, all I knew was the cops were coming over and they needed an updated picture." With the shocking news her sister was on drugs, Sam was left in the dark, wondering what will happen next.

Sabrina was living homeless in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. Her family was making every attempt to help her; yet Sabrina kept pushing them away. Talking about her mom, Sabrina said in the interview: "She tried to help a lot, I could tell that she was very sad. She wanted me to come home - she was blaming herself, it wasn't her fault." The full-length video interview shows the progress of how an addiction can affect siblings and parents, and how - through the proper help - an addict can break the chains of addiction. It was an absolute pleasure for the Narconon drug rehab program to be able to interview these two ladies. The Narconon film crew was able to see a real life perspective, and get some true insight.

Sabrina was also able to show our film crew through some of the spots in Montreal where she spent her time while homeless and on drugs. Accompanied by her sister, the ladies took a look back at Sabrina's time as a drug user. It was difficult for Sabrina to face this; yet she stood strong, and was able to give details about what it was like. Look for the full-length video to be released in the coming days.
NEW HAVEN, Conn., June 15 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A dark and brooding adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Snow White, will go into production this October. Several horror/fantasy film blogs broke the news about the new independent film production from Goodnight Film (goodnightfilm.com) earlier this month. Connecticut filmmaker A.D. Calvo will introduce a much darker twist to the original Grimm fairytale, incorporating such controversial - but sadly topical and relevant - themes as drug abuse and teen suicide.

"Although a fantasy, this is hardly a fairytale," said Calvo. "It's much more about despair than anything else. I'm looking to explore dark romanticism as it relates to modern culture. I realize some might find my interpretation a bit disturbing," he says. "This is not your mother's Snow White."

A.D. Calvo is not new to controversy; several years ago he produced a short expose on celebrity shock sculptor Daniel Edwards, the same artist who sculpted the nude Britney Spears giving birth. Calvo's short films, including "The Several Severed Heads of Daniel Edwards," have received over one million views on YouTube and have been covered by major new sources including CNN and NPR. Edwards will be contributing some of his work to Calvo's film. One of his pieces, entitled Snow White's Meth Lab, is already in production.

"The announcement of Snow White is resonating much stronger than I expected. There's already a solid fan base growing within the Facebook community, specifically within the alternative, industrial, and Goth culture," said Calvo.

His first feature, "The Other Side of the Tracks" - starring Brendan Fehr (BONES, CSI:MIAMI), Tania Raymonde (COLD CASE, LOST), Chad Lindberg (THE FAST & THE FURIOUS), and Oscar-nominated Shirley Knight - was completed in 2008 and has already garnered a variety of film festival awards.

"Snow White" is scheduled to be released in 2010, shortly after Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland."
BOONTON, N.J., June 15 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Streaming video and music distributed across the Internet, an IP TV network, or a mobile handset will generate more than $78 billion in network-derived and content-derived revenue into the U.S. markets over the next six years, according to a new market research study from The Insight Research Corporation. Streaming media refers to the transmission of digital audio and video files over an IP network or wireless network in real time or on-demand, while prohibiting users from storing the files locally.

Insight's market analysis study, "Streaming Media, IPTV, and Broadband Transport: Telecommunications Carriers and Entertainment Services 2009-2014," describes the technology and market forces underpinning the network-derived revenues generated from distributing streamed content across the public Internet, content distribution networks, cellular networks, or telco IP networks.

The study also estimates the revenue from the various types of content-derived revenues, along with associated advertising revenue. The streaming market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 27 percent over the next five years, driven by on-demand audio, on-demand video, and the accompanying advertising revenue.

"Over the past seven years as we've tracked the developments in streaming it has evolved from an esoteric niche to a mainstream market," says Robert Rosenberg, Insight Research president. "What we predicted way back when is coming to fruition. The advertising revenue that long supported traditional TV is gravitating to this new medium, putting downward pressure on traditional TV distribution schemes," Rosenberg concluded.

Insight's report examines the following market drivers: licensing issues, broadband Internet access, mass-market demand, and enterprise usage. Forecasts include revenues for the U.S. market by network services, including digital rights management (DRM), encoding, and performance measurement; and by content services, including advertising, music on-demand, Internet radio and video on-demand.
With Obama Administration About to Appoint as Many Czars as a 24-Pack of Beer, Author and Certified Brewer Will Petition Country's Chief Beer Drinker for a Much Needed Beer Nutrition Czar Slot

CHICAGO, Ill., June 12 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Publisher Bob Skilnik, president of Gambrinus Media, announced his candidacy today for the role of United States "Beer Nutrition Czar." President Obama might soon be looking for another Czar who can help clarify the innumerable misconceptions about beer's historic role as a beverage of moderation, hopes Skilnik (although he has little faith that the President won't be able to resist saying "more taxes" and "beer" in the same sentence).

After personally fending off dozens of Internet critics, nutritionists, dieticians, and in one dramatic case, the incorrect information represented in the early version of "The South Beach Diet" that demonized all beers as beer belly makers (later retracted by the book's author) with the 2003 and 2004 publications of his "Drink Beer, Get Thin Diet" and "The Low-Carb Bartender," Skilnik thinks it's high time that the President appoints him as national "Beer Nutrition Czar" and allow him to spread the word of beer's nutritional benefits.

The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans cite several studies indicating that light-to-moderate alcohol consumption is linked to lower mortality from coronary heart disease, especially among men ages 45 or older and women ages 55 or older. But because of this bureaucratic suppression of such information, Skilnik has also recently written "Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER? Nutritional Values Of 2,000 Worldwide Beers" (ISBN-13: 978-0982218204, $10), now available in book stores and Internet book sites. Tired of waiting for the federal alcohol regulatory agency, the Alcohol Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) to implement new changes in proposed alcohol nutrition labeling requirements that would tell consumers the nutritional benefits of beer, author and brewer Skilnik has instead compiled an impressive array of brews with their nutritional values. The paperback book can be used by dieters counting calories or carbohydrates or by moderate beer drinkers who simply want to know the nutritional values of what he or she is drinking. Currently, this kind of information is only available on light or low-carbohydrate beers, another Washingtonian mistake.

"Look, I understand that one more Czar in Washington would only add to the notion that there would be more Czars in D.C. than you might have found at a turn-of-a-century Romanoff wedding. I'd therefore be willing instead to be a 'Roving Beer Nutrition Czar,' visiting bar after bar - something my wife would attest that I'm quite adroit at - to get the word out on the positive attributes of America's favorite adult beverage. I'm tired of reading nonsense websites of half-truths or picking up popular diet books that meekly admit that a little beer is good for your heart but then can't tell you how many calories, carbohydrates or even Weight Watchers POINTS® are in beer or read the further mindless dribble of web-based 'experts' who claim that beer contains nothing more than 'empty' calories. In reality, you can find fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, K and water soluble vitamins like C B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin and niacin in beer. In addition, beer also contains 21 minerals, no fat, no cholesterol and less sodium per serving than all the honest politicians in all the bars in D.C. on a Friday night."

"This Friday, June 19, 2009, I will be sending my resume to the White House in consideration for this much-needed political appointment. At the rate that President Obama is appointing Czars, I figure if I get my hat into the ring early enough, I might have a strong chance of securing this spot. My son's high school jeweled Prom King crown fits me so that should help keep the federal budget somewhat in line with ceremonial accouterments, and if we concentrate on American beers only, we'll be able to keep jobs from going overseas and make America stronger."

Bob Skilnik is a certified brewer and freelance writer. He has been a contributor to the Good Eating Section of the Chicago Tribune and a former columnist for the LowCarb Energy magazine. The Chicago writer has appeared on ABC's "The View," ESPN2's "Cold Pizza," and Fox News Channel's "Fox News Live," preaching the moderate consumption and nutritional aspects of adult beverages. Skilnik is currently working on a similar nutritional research project with wine for fall publication.

"Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER? Nutritional Values Of 2,000 Worldwide Beers" is distributed by Ingram Book Group, the world's largest wholesale distributor of book products. With four distribution centers strategically located throughout the country and the largest inventory in the industry, Ingram provides the fastest delivery available.

NEW YORK, N.Y., June 9 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Girls Write Now (GWN), New York's premier creative writing and mentoring organization for high school girls, today announced its annual spring reading, the culmination of another year of developing New York's best young writers. On Sunday, June 14, please join us for an afternoon with participants in the program and the women who inspire them -- featuring Amy Robach, National Correspondent for NBC's Today and National Book Award Nominee Jean Thompson, whose new book is "Do Not Deny Me" (ISBN: 978-1416595632, Simon & Schuster, June 9) -- at the New School University's Tishman Auditorium, 66 West 12th Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues).

The event will take place from 4-6 p.m., and admission is free and open to the public. This program is co-sponsored by The New School's Department of Media Studies and Film.

Girls Write Now mentees, who range in age from 14 to 21, will read from their new anthology, tackling themes of family, personal identity, independence, sexuality and hundreds of high school days. This year's anthology features an introduction by Judy Blundell, winner of the 2008 National Book Award for Young People's Literature for her novel, "What I Saw and How I Lied."

"This is a wonderful opportunity to see the Girls Write Now community in action," said Maya Nussbaum, Executive Director of Girls Write Now.

Amy Robach serves as the Saturday TODAY anchor and as a national correspondent for Nightly News and TODAY. Robach joined MSNBC in September of 2003 as a daytime anchor. Since then, she has anchored coverage of major news events including the War in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2004 Presidential Election. Robach traveled to Washington, D.C. to cover both President Bush's second Inauguration and the Funeral of President Ronald Reagan. Robach began her career in broadcast journalism in Athens, Georgia, starting as an anchor at WUOG-FM, and later interning at WNGM-TV. Robach graduated from the University of Georgia with honors, and received a bachelor of arts in journalism. She lives in New York with her husband Tim and their two daughters.

Hailed as "one of our most astute diagnosticians of contemporary experience," (Boston Globe) who "rivals [Alice] Munro at her greatest" (Kirkus, starred review), Jean Thompson has emerged as "one of our most lucid and insightful writers" (San Francisco Chronicle). The unanimous critical acclaim for each of Thompson's works of fiction has been accompanied by a profusion of honors and awards: Who Do You Love was a National Book Award finalist, Throw Like a Girl made the New York Times' "100 Notable Books" list and topped the "Best of 2007 lists" in the San Francisco Chronicle and Chicago Tribune. With each succeeding collection, this gifted writer has garnered increasing attention from an ever-widening circle of admirers.

In "DO NOT DENY ME: Stories," her latest collection of short fiction (Simon & Schuster; June 9, 2009; paperback original; $14.00), Thompson excels at defining the unexamined lives that most of her characters have fashioned for themselves and the connections and compromises they make in attempting to assuage their dissatisfactions. Of her work, David Sedaris has said, "If there are 'Jean Thompson characters,' they're us, and never have we been so articulate and worthy of compassion." She lives in Illinois. Girls Write Now Inc. (GWN) is New York's premier creative writing and mentoring non-profit organization, matching bright, creative teenage girls from the city's public high schools with professional women writers in the community since 1998. Through weekly one-to-one mentoring, monthly group genre-based workshops, and quarterly public readings, their mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where low-income, at-risk girls can expand their natural writing talents, develop independent voices, and build confidence in making healthy choices in school, career and life. 100 percent of all seniors completing the program go on to college and GWN students have earned a total of 33 Scholastic Gold and Silver Writing Awards over the last three years. The organization was recently featured in both The New York Times and as part of the NBC Nightly News "Making a Difference Series."

In 2009, GWN was honored by The Union Square Awards for creating educational opportunities, building community, and promoting progressive social change; GWN was also chosen as a Coming Up Taller Semifinalist by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities, distinguishing it as one of the top arts- and humanities-based programs in the country serving youth beyond the school hours. NEW ORLEANS, La., June 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- From July 6-14th the town of Pamplona, Spain becomes a daredevil's paradise, when people gather for Sanfermines. Many may not know it by that name, but they are sure to know about its main attraction: the Running of the Bulls (encierro). New Orleans now hosts its own homage to this event from July 10-12th, called the San Fermin in Nueva Orleans festival (SFNO), brought to you by Nola Bulls, LLC.

On July 10th, 2009, the third annual SFNO will commence with El Txupinazo (pronounced choo-pee-NAHT-so) at Rio Mar Seafood Restaurant at 800 South Peters St., from 6-9 p.m. The guest list for this event has been expanded to 300 in order to accommodate the growing popularity of the event. Tickets are expected to sell out, so attendees are encouraged to reserve them early. Email info@nolabulls.com for more information.

Saturday's encierro begins precisely at 8 a.m. as in Pamplona and will once again feature the Big Easy Rollergirls as the bulls. This year also includes rollerbulls from leagues in Baton Rouge, Houma, Houston, TX and Jacksonville, FL. It will begin at the corner of Conti and Burgundy in the famous French Quarter. After gathering at the Three Legged Dog Bar at 6:30 a.m. for instructions, over 70 rollerbulls will be unleashed upon the runners (corredores). While death is highly unlikely, there's always the threat of being battered by a foam-core bat or spraining an ankle! Either way, it will be "run at your own risk." This year's attendance is expected to grow significantly from the nearly 1,000 participants at last year's encierro on July 12th, 2008.

After the encierro, the party continues at the Gazebo Cafe, located at 1018 Decatur Street. Tapas style food, sangria, Marques de Caceres and Dona Paula wines, Stella Artois beer, Old New Orleans Rum and Port of Barcelona Gin drinks, Obsello Spanish Absinthe, Cult Energy Drink and live music and DJ's will be on-hand for all to enjoy.

SFNO 2009 will also introduce two new events. Saturday night's Fiesta de Pantalones (Pants Party) at Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal St.) features Los Po-boy-Citos and Dr Gumbo's Spanish Soundsystem, with doors opening at 8 p.m., and the show starting at 9 p.m. Sunday's Pobre de Mi (Poor Me) at 12 p.m. will close the festival at a soon-to-be disclosed venue. Revelers will have a chance to relive the glory of SFNO 2009 and watch or participate in a Hemingway Contest.

For more information on all events, visit www.nolabulls.com.

A part of the proceeds for SFNO 2009 will go to Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), an organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi, including responding to the immediate needs of those animals in need of medical care, or who have been neglected, abused and deprived of love. ARNO promotes the foster, adoption, and reunion of pets with caretakers, as well as spaying/neutering of all companion animals.
Leading U.S. professional services organization preparing for 2010 centennial

ATLANTA, Ga., June 1 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Corporate and organizational custom publishing expert Bookhouse Group (bookhouse.net) has the privilege of being selected as publisher for the one-hundred-year commemorative book of BDO Seidman, LLP (bdo.com), one of the nation's leading professional services organizations. The firm evaluated a group of competitive bids before choosing the twenty-year provider of museum quality history books to begin its project in June for delivery by September 2010.

"We are honored by BDO Seidman's decision expressing its confidence in our qualifications," said Bookhouse Group founder and custom-publishing expert Rob Levin, "Our role is to deliver a corporate history that ensures its centennial corporate observance will resonate, and not be limited to an isolated date or geography. This book is destined to become a treasured individual possession, fulfilling the intent of its commemorative investment."

Organizations approaching watermark anniversaries, such as a 10-year, 25-year or 100-year increment often want to refresh their image, as well as recount their story and reinforce their vision. Creating a commemorative history book, complete with unique current photography and written content, not only creates a centerpiece for the observance, but supplies all the elements needed to update web site content, marketing collateral and other external communications.

The opportunity to integrate the history's elements into a variety of multi-media formats not only extends its reach, but also deepens its marketing value, according to Levin.

For the history of BDO Seidman, Bookhouse commissioned writer Alan Axelrod, Ph.D., whose many business and history books, including several bestsellers, made him uniquely qualified for this project.

About Bookhouse Group
Bookhouse Group works with businesses, organizations, institutions and communities that have chosen a custom publishing project as both a statement of their purpose and an investment in their image, helping to establish and strengthen their legacy by creating an enduring work of art that will resonate timelessly and meaningfully.
CHAUMONT, N.Y., June 1 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A book aimed at helping individual students walk a path through metaphysics, to understand and read sacred energies, learn from spirits, including loved ones in the Afterlife and practice astral projection, is the latest work of Mystic Spiritualist Robert Egby. Entitled "The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist - The Journey Home" (ISBN: 978-0-615-29196-3), the book sets new challenges for the individual Spiritualist, creating new thoughts and offering new philosophies for the future.

The author weaves a kaleidoscopic path through the world of psychic energies and deep spiritualism that will entertain and nourish beginners and advanced questers alike.

This is not a book for passive spiritualists. It empowers the individual to tackle psychic challenges, mediumship and walking with Spirits and Angels. The best Spiritualist can be weighed down by the mechanical and negative ego, the False Self. Robert shows how to clean up the ego, live in the Here and Now, discover the Silence, and love yourself unconditionally - prime prerequisites for working with Spirits, and venturing into the higher realms of the Other Side and the Universal Mind.

The False Self is a major block to higher learning and communication with loved ones in Sprit and ascended beings. It limits our spiritual progress, including the way we see life and the Creator and being open to the unimaginable God Force. The book encourages the reader to create his or her own quest and find the truth on their own terms, not somebody else's, and certainly not that dictated by the churches.

The author says: "Most religions, including Spiritualism, teach the past, reworking past events and suffering religious stalemates. The only future is a vaporous afterlife - Heaven, the Spirit World - promised after death."

Mainline churches have deprived many of their flocks from ascending spiritual paths by barring them from spirit communications and higher learning. "This," says the author "is tantamount to 1,700 years of spiritual abuse. At least organized Spiritualists try, but stop doing any serious research after delivering a few trite messages. We are now in the age of the individual, radical Spiritualist, personal development."

Egby, a former journalist and award-winning news photographer, spent thirteen years covering Middle East turmoil. Years later, when studying metaphysics, he realized spirit voices had guided him, and several times had saved his life. A Quester is always open to good spirit voices, and the book shows the way how questers can listen, and even converse with spirit guides and loved ones. Egby includes many of his own dramatic and emotional experiences as a Quester.

The Quest is a workbook, a guide for the person who wishes to walk a metaphysical path to enlightenment and become attuned to the Universal Mind. It's filled with practical, effective exercises on meditation, developing psychic gifts, working with spirits, conducting spirit rescues, developing astral travel and teaches the benefits of an open and a judgment-free mind.

Spiritualism is noted for its ability to teach people how to communicate with the so-called dead. Getting messages from loved ones in Spirit is fine, perhaps uplifting, but it does not necessarily lead to spiritual maturity. The human ego, -- the False Self - found in many a Spiritualist and student of metaphsyics, can block avenues to spiritual consciousness, higher awareness and communication with God. Spiritual maturity will not be found in churches, Mainline or Spiritualist, it can only be achieved through the Quester's own study and search for the Truth. Everything else is some other person's theory.

When it comes to God, Spiritualists believe in "Infinite Intelligence." If Spiritualism is to attract followers and be a thriving, meaningful spiritual movement, it must recognize a warm, meaningful, loving Force. But how does one love something so indescribable, so infinite. That is the purpose of The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist.

About the Author

Robert Egby has studied and taught Mysticism and Metaphsyics for over thirty years. A former journalist and award-winning broadcaster in the Middle East and Canada, he trod the corridors of government public relations in British Columbia before settling in the United States. He is a Spiritualist-trained minister and now lives in northern New York State. He is also the author of "Cracking the Glass Darkly" which formed a background for his second book "The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist."

The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist ($16.95) ISBN-10: 0-615-29196-1 and ISBN-13: 978-0-615-29196-3, published June 1st 2009 by Three Mile Point Publishing, Chaumont, NY. It is meant to be used as a starting point for discussions about how VHL has affected the family. The handbook gives children a basic understanding of VHL and information on how to live with it and manage their own health.

The book can also be a resource for families dealing with other hereditary cancer syndromes. It explains genetics in simple terms and is a tool to teach children about this topic. The book is available for $12.99 from Amazon.com or from the VHLFA at www.vhl.org.
VHL is a genetic risk factor for a number of tumors that is caused by a tiny misspelling in one copy of one gene, the VHL gene. People who carry this flaw are at increased risk for tumors of the retina, brain, spinal cord, kidneys, pancreas and adrenal glands.
