BOONTON, N.J., July 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Until recently, there has been a chasm between PC video and home television viewing. A welter of devices, however, will soon be bridging that divide and will bring Internet video onto the home screen-forever changing the economics of home entertainment, says a new market research study released by the INSIGHT Research Corporation. The lynchpin in this home entertainment revolution will be the devices connecting the Internet to television screens. Satellite and cable set top boxes, wireless handsets, digital adapter boxes, audio/video players, game consoles, IPTV set top boxes offered by telephone companies, and various video recording and playback devices will be included.

According to the report, "Internet Video & The Next-Gen Set Top Box: A Revolution in Access Devices, 2008-2013," these new home gateways to the Internet will break the bonds that tied together the aggregation and distribution functions performed by the cable and broadcast TV networks-because Internet access reduces the barriers to entering the distribution business to almost zero.

If distribution of content is easy and nearly free, the formerly entwined relationship of entertainment aggregation and distribution provided by cable and broadcast networks comes loose, and the advertising revenue that long supported it moves to an Internet model of clicks and counts.

"The walled garden of the cable and broadcast TV networks is going to start to disappear over the next 36 months as more and more video entertainment becomes accessible to these Internet-enabled entertainment gateway devices," says INSIGHT Research president Robert Rosenberg.

"We are projecting that revenue from Internet video content and advertising will grow at a compounded rate of nearly 50 percent over the next five years as this market takes off," Rosenberg concluded.
Breakthrough children's video series prepares kids ages 2-5 for childhood's big milestones while making them the star of the show.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 27 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ThinkBox Inc. today announces the release of "Showy Show! Preschool Show," the first in a new live action educational video series for 2-5 year olds. The "Showy Show" series is specifically designed to use music and participation to help kids and their parents get ready for the major challenges of childhood such as going to preschool, going to bed, and having a sleep over. The child is encouraged to participate as the "star" of "Showy Show," and each show is filled with opportunities to develop early literacy skills. The first show in the series,"Showy Show, Preschool Show," is now available for purchase at showyshow.com.

"Showy Show, Preschool Show" aims to prepare a 2-5 year old for preschool. Children learn the who, what, why, where and how of a preschool day with song and dance numbers and funny skits. Throughout, they are exposed to a literacy-rich environment so that essential early reading skills are developed. By the end of the fun-filled show, both parents and children will be less mystified about preschool, and more open to the joy of their journey together.

"Showy Show" was created by a mom in response to her own need for help in confronting the major milestones of childhood with her young daughter. "We wanted to create something fun and entertaining that would help parents and kids to happily conquer some of the tricky moments in childhood," said Jennifer McCaffrey, Executive Producer of Showy Show. "It was also important for us to create a show that kids would love and learn from, but wouldn't make today's hipper parents cringe."

"ThinkBox has always been committed to the development of the whole child, including their academic, social, and emotional development," says Brian Napack, CEO of ThinkBox. "With 'Showy Show,' Jennifer McCaffrey has created an engaging tool that will allow kids and their grown-ups to learn and grow together while they share the joy of tackling some of the key challenges of early childhood."

"Showy Show!" is built on the pedagogical approach of active learning used in High/Scope Preschool Curriculum(SM), which has guided many preschool learning programs. Through a process called Watch-Play-Show(TM), each "Showy Show!" episode's songs and activities support the entire cycle of learning for both child and parent. The three stages of Watch-Play-Show help kids to understand that they are competent thinkers, decision-makers and problem-solvers. Throughout the repeating Watch-Play-Show cycle, adults and children enjoy sharing the process with each other.

"Showy Show" includes a cast of three graduates of the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University. The production features seven original songs from composer Aaron Kaplan of "Top Chef" and "Project Runway."
LOS ANGELES, Calif., Feb. 25 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- In a new documentary series on DVD, released by Gallery of Historical Figures(R), artist and raconteur George Stuart gives his take on the formative and often turbulent history of England. Murder, treachery, greed, love and hate punctuate the timeline, as the country evolves from Tudor absolutism into constitutional monarchy of Victoria.

For fifty years, Stuart has captivated audiences with his entertaining monologs about history's famous and infamous personalities. His cast of characters is illustrated by his highly realistic sculptures called Historical Figures(R). Now his popular live presentations are being recorded and edited for DVD format. To complete each documentary, we see images of the Historical Figures as well as historical events and locations.

Tim Schiffer, Executive Director of the Museum of Ventura County states "George Stuart's portraits of the British monarchy and their associated notables cover a huge span of history, and include such a varied cast of characters, that they represent one of the fascinating components of his work. Having these monologs available on DVD will allow those who have heard Mr. Stuart speak on the Russians and those who have not, to see these people again through his eyes."

The eight-part English series opens with the ascendancy of Henry VII, the first Tudor ruler. He is succeeded by his son Henry VIII and granddaughter Elizabeth I. England breaks with Rome and moves toward Protestantism. The Stuart monarchies are interrupted by Cromwell's short-lived autocratic republic. The Germanic Hanover dynasty section includes the four Georgian kings. The final two parts describe the life and times of Victoria and her court. Stuart's style, humor and attention to historical fact make the DVD set appropriate for listeners of thirteen years or older.

Portrait-quality images and video clips of more than 50 English Historical Figures can be viewed at www.galleryhistoricalfigures.com. The "400 Years of English History" DVD set is available for $49.95 at the website Shoppe.

Documentaries of monologs of other historical periods are in planning stages, including Bourbon France, Tsarist Russia, Manchu China, America's Founders & Patriots, Lincoln's Era, Conquest of the West, and Renaissance & Reformation.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Most of the George Stuart's 400-plus Historical Figures(R) are in museums, including the Smithsonian Institution. In southern California, the Museum of Ventura County exhibits their collection of 200 Historical Figures on a rotating basis. Stuart works from the Gallery of Historical Figures, his studio in Ojai, California. See www.galleryhistoricalfigures.com.
GLENDALE, Calif. - Nov. 28 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- As holiday shoppers prepare to spend an estimated $13.5 billion on audio/video products, Intellikey Labs, a highly recognized leader in Hi-Definition Quality Assurance, releases a how-to guide, "Consumer Guide to Getting More Out Of Your Hi-Def Purchase: Blu-ray and HD DVD," outlines the basic options, identifies the top-ranked Hi-Def DVD players, and answers the question of Blu-ray vs. HD DVD.

"With Hi-Def DVD products at the top of many holiday shopping lists, we wanted to help simplify the rapidly evolving choices that Hi-Def offers," said Lauren Evers, co-founder and President/CEO of Intellikey Labs. "Our consumer-friendly Hi-Def shopping guide strives to alleviate the guesswork involved when making a purchase in the highly technical world of Hi-Def DVD products. Our guide is designed to offer shoppers an easier way to make Hi-Def shopping decisions and ultimately, a much more satisfying experience with their Hi-Def DVD purchases."

"Consumer Guide to Getting More Out Of Your Hi-Def Purchase: Blu-ray and HD DVD" can help ease the burden of holiday shopping with quick and easy identification of the highest ranked Hi-Def DVD products. In 2006 alone, consumer product returns in the U.S. reached $100 billion - mostly due to increasingly complex technical consumer products without a clear explanation of which products best suit their needs (*NOTE 1).

Intellikey Labs' Quality Assurance testing is known in the Hi-Def industry as the most accurate and most reliable. Intellikey ensures that Hi-Def and digital content products have every opportunity to perform at their highest capacity, while being committed to the education of consumers to ensure they gain the most enjoyment out of their Hi-Def DVD purchases.

"When deciding to buy a Hi-Def DVD product, consumers should be armed with the necessary market insight to make the right decision. Their Hi-Def purchases should bring them as much satisfaction as they expect-and more!" added Evers.

The first-ever Intellikey Labs' "Consumer Guide to Getting More Out Of Your Hi-Def Purchase: Blu-ray and HD DVD" hopes to ensure that buyers make educated purchases this holiday season, and that this clear and simple guide helps bring more consumers enjoyment in using Hi-Definition DVD.
Intellikey Labs Launches First-Ever Shopping Guide To Best Prepare Consumers During The Highly Anticipated Hi-Def DVD Shopping Season

GLENDALE, Calif. - Nov. 26 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- This holiday season, there is good news for millions of consumers looking to make the right buying decisions for Hi-Definition DVD. As holiday shoppers prepare to spend an estimated $13.5 billion on audio/video products, Intellikey Labs, a highly recognized leader in Hi-Definition Quality Assurance, releases their first-ever Hi-Definition DVD Buyer's Guide.

This how-to guide, entitled "Consumer Guide to Getting More Out Of Your Hi-Def Purchase: Blu-ray and HD DVD," outlines the basic options, identifies the top-ranked Hi-Def DVD players, answers the question of Blu-ray vs. HD DVD, explains what is the most important to Hi-Def DVD buyers, shares much-needed tips on the three main points to consider when purchasing an HDTV display, discusses common Hi-Def audio options, and much more.

As the slow adoption of Hi-Definition DVD continues for the second holiday season in a row, there is a big concern that consumers are still unfamiliar with the concept of Hi-Definition and hesitant to make a purchase.

"Consumer Guide to Getting More Out Of Your Hi-Def Purchase: Blu-ray and HD DVD" is available to consumers at no cost, and can be requested by sending an e-mail to: HiDef@intellikeylabs(.com).
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Oct. 22 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- New Light Entertainment, a multi-faceted, home entertainment company that delivers audio and video content to audiences, announces the upcoming release of Shiloh Falls, a western that will also include downloadable music.

Scheduled to be released in January 2008, the Shiloh Falls DVD will include both the movie and music, so when people rent or buy the DVD they can watch the movie and download music.

Shiloh Falls is the classic tale of good versus evil with a twist. Set in the Wild West, a mysterious stranger appears in town who is more powerful than the law or the fugitives. Good and evil must pull together to fight true evil to achieve divine retribution.

"What makes us different from other production and distribution companies is that we offer both the movie and new music on one DVD," Tom Sykes, New Light Entertainment founder, said. "We are changing the way people discover music."

On the audio side, New Light Entertainment works with musicians in all musical genres ranging from jazz and blues to country and alternative. Primarily, tracks are targeted to audiences 35 and older.

"Our goal is to provide an outlet for producers and artists that is honest and mutually profitable to both label and artist," Sykes explained. "Through this, we hope to enrich the lives of our viewers and listeners."

"There are so many major labels that traditionally market to younger audiences that we wanted to give the more mature market more entertainment choices," Sykes said.

On the video side, the company is aligning themselves with filmmakers who have the ability to make good films. They are also partnering with production companies and producing films on their own. They are focused on the story, the key ingredient to a successful film.

Sykes, former Vice President of Sales at Showtime Network, brings years of experience to New Light Entertainment. He is a media veteran and has also worked in entertainment divisions at Embassy Pictures, Vestron, Turner Entertainment, WEA and PM Entertainment.

New Light Entertainment manufactures, acquires, produces and distributes CDs and DVD products, worldwide. They are distributed in the U.S. by Universal Music Group.

New Light Entertainment music is also downloadable from the web site at: www.newlightent.com.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Oct. 10 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- As an international distributor of electronic musical instruments during the 1990s, Geoff Farr frequently spent long nights in European hotel rooms watching the only television programs that required no translation: short experimental videos backed with electronic music scores. Farr says German television was an especially rich medium for an American insomniac interested in creative new videos.

"I watched endless hours of shows like 'Flomotion' and 'Man vs Machine,' Farr says. "There was another program called 'Space Night' that ran photos from NASA archives, accompanied by some really interesting electronic music artists. The shows were really compelling ... I couldn't rip my eyes away from the screen."

Farr surmised that others would find the offerings equally entertaining, and attempted to secure United States licensing rights for the programming. After it became apparent that such rights would be prohibitively expensive, he decided to create his own compilations of original experimental videos, and called the shows i Promise 2 Be You.

Farr enlisted the aid of musician and film editor Bill Black, with whom he had collaborated on an earlier video production that had been selected as a finalist in the 2002 Sundance Online Film Festival. Farr began to envision and assemble what would eventually become 10 half-hour programs on the i Promise 2 Be You Web site (www.ipromise2beyou.com).

Asked about the unusual name for the site and the program, Farr explained that he had discovered techno duo The Luxury Tax while visiting California's Fateless Flows Collaborative Web site (http://www.fatelessflows.com). "One of their songs had this odd Wizard-of-Oz-like voice chanting what sounded like 'I promise to be you,' and I wanted a title that demanded further investigation," Farr says. "i Promise 2 Be You did just that. We ended up using the track as the main program theme."

Farr tapped New York motion graphics artists Nika Offenbac and Devin Simunovich from C-TRL Labs (http://www.c-trl.com) to produce opening and closing segments, logo "bugs" and interstitial video elements. "Nika and Devin understood immediately what I was doing," Farr says. "They came back with images that just blew me away." (Farr isn't the only one blown away by C-TRL's work; see what Apple has to say about the firm at http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/c-trl).

With the show's architecture in place, Farr harvested work from videos artists across the planet for the i Promise 2 Be You's inaugural ten-show season. Standout segments came from artists Scott Pagano, Davy Force, Sue-c, Optical Light Pipe and Motomichi Nakamura and Ben Sheppee.

For the first several months of the show's online life, the videos were available for viewing only at the i Promise 2 Be You site ... until the work snagged the attention of Syd Birenbaum, vice president of content acquisition at the online peercasting video network Veoh. Now, i Promise To Be You's 10 episodes are a popular featured channel on the site (veoh.com/channels/ipromise2beyou).

"Having the show hosted on Veoh has been a huge push for us," Farr says. "We're hearing positive viewer feedback from all over, and it's really increased the number of new submissions we're getting for our second season." The buzz on the shows is growing: I Promise 2 Be You episodes also are available on vuze.com (http://www.vuze.com), blinkx.com (http://www.blinkx.com) and babelgum.com (http://www.babelgum.com).

With the global reach of the Internet, and the burgeoning interest in i Promise 2 Be You content, the fruits of Farr's dream may end up being seen by millions of viewers-likely a substantially larger number of people than those losing sleep watching experimental overnight television in European hotel rooms.
CUMMING, Ga. - June 20 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Motivating a child to do the simplest of tasks can be a challenging chore, even if the task sounds like fun. And, encouraging a child to learn something new can be downright daunting. But, Coach Dan Murphy, co-owner of Orion-imaging.com and coach for the Red Dragons of the Forsyth County Family YMCA, had a camera and a creative formula for motivation.

After losing their first three soccer games, 22-0, motivating the Red Dragons became a huge hurdle for Murphy. So, he put his video production experience to the test and came up with a unique and inspiring way to motivate his team.

*(Photo Caption: Coach Dan Murphy with daughter, Lauren)

"I had to show the kids how much fun we really were having," Murphy explained. "I wanted to capture images of each child doing something right so they would feel good about their experience and not want to quit."

For their efforts, the kids began resembling Hall of Fame Champions, and the season unfolded like a Hollywood movie. Murphy presented each player and their families a video montage of highlights and photos that was worthy of a red carpet premier. As a result, almost every child returned for the next season.

With it came new team colors and a new name, the Rockets, but the same trouble scoring goals. Murphy returned to the video camera to tell the team's story, and the result started generating so much buzz, Murphy knew he had created something special. Curious about how it would stack up in the industry, he decided to test the waters and entered both videos in the prestigious Telly Awards.

The 28th Annual Telly Awards (www.tellyawards.com) received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents. And, when all the 2007 winners were announced in the non-broadcast video category, Orion-imaging.com had won a Silver Telly for "Best Motivational Video" and an added 10 Bronze Tellys.

The Telly Awards, founded in 1978, are the premier awards that are given out annually for excellence in film and video production, local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs.

Winners represent the best work of the most-respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Previous winners have included Cox Communications, Children's Miracle Network, Time Warner Cable Media, Universal Studios, and Walt Disney Studios.

Murphy has been producing digital videos through Orion-imaging.com since 1999 and has been coaching his daughter Lauren's soccer team for four seasons; they keep getting better every year and continue inspiring their coach.

The Rockets season was further validated when they were recently featured on WSB-TV's Sports Final with Bill Hartman (www.Orion-imaging.com/sportsfinal.htm).
Award-winning videos may be viewed in their entirety at:
Special set perfect for history lovers; includes the just-completed Pursuit of Honor film

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Oct. 31 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Just in time for the 2006 holiday season, Paladin Communications is releasing a special George Washington DVD Gift Set. Perfect for the documentary lover or history buff on your list, the gift set includes Paladin's three award-winning documentaries on the man who would forge our nation - George Washington.

From his first trip west at age 21 to his journey to Boston more than two decades later to command the Continental Army, the George Washington DVD Gift Set tells the story of a Washington you never knew. With almost six hours of dramatic scenes and extras on three DVDs, the George Washington DVD Gift Set takes viewers back to a time when a country was in turmoil and one leader rose to the challenge of establishing a new nation.

Included in the set is Paladin's most recent documentary Pursuit of Honor: The Rise of George Washington, which was completed in the summer of 2006 and entered into the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. Paladin's producers believe the themes and issues explored in this George Washington documentary will resonate strongly with viewers because of the conflicts that exist in today's world.

"We are in a time of war right now, and this film mirrors some of the sentiment that is being felt around the world and reported on in the news every day," says Robert Matzen, writer/director of the latest film.

Also included in the George Washington DVD Gift Set are Paladin's first two films, both of which have received national acclaim. When the Forest Ran Red: Washington, Braddock & a Doomed Army (2001), tells of the opening days of the wilderness war that erupted between three empires for control of the Ohio Country in America. This film has earned six national awards and continues to air on 70 PBS affiliates around the country. The second in the trilogy, George Washington's First War: The Battles for Fort Duquesne (2003), picks up where When the Forest Ran Red ends. Braddock's army has been annihilated. It is left to one man, the 'retired' George Washington, all of 25 years old, to pull together defenses for 500 miles of colonial frontier. First War earned five national awards, and both films have achieved national distribution on DVD and VHS.

Historians and reviewers consider the Paladin productions to be enthralling compared to other documentaries because of the mix of live action and artistic shots, as well as sequences that are similar to music videos. The films include scenes shot at some of the country's most revered landmarks, including Mount Vernon and Williamsburg, Virginia, as well as many locations throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

"This set will give the history buff or historical documentary fan on your list a unique and memorable gift," Matzen added. "Putting them together allows the viewer to witness the emergence of the real George Washington and his rise to become America's first and greatest hero."

The set, with a special price of $54.95, will be available for purchase November 6 online at www.gwmovie.net or by calling 1.866.831.4840.
