LONDONDERRY, N.H., July 12, 2011 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- If you have a video on your website, your company is 50 times more likely to land on the first page of Google than websites without video, according to Dr. Sharon Livingston.

"It's true, even when the keywords are competitive," said Dr. Livingston, aka "The Small Business Diva," who specializes in creating customized interview videos for small businesses. "And good videos on websites, especially the compelling interview type, are new enough that it's unlikely your competitors are doing it at all or doing it well, so this gives you a real advantage."

For a video to have maximum impact, it should not be the "talking head" variety, according to Dr. Livingston, a clinical psychologist and one of the country's best-known market research executives who has conducted over 60,000 interviews. The most compelling is the "partner interview" format, because "a conversation is always more interesting and lively than a person simply delivering a talk."

"Advertisers know that telling a story about a product or service makes a bigger impact in their customers' minds than outright promotion, and that's what this type of interview does," explained Dr. Livingston of Londonderry, N.H. "By eliciting passion from the business owner, viewers are drawn in, and the features of the product or service come alive.

"People doing monologues often look scared or frozen and sound stilted or like they are reading...which in a lot of cases, they are!

"On the other hand, when there's an involved 'partner' in the interview, viewers vicariously experience the relationship between the interviewer and that person, and by association they begin to feel they have a relationship with the business owner. It's like sitting at Starbucks and overhearing two friends talking about an exciting find that you just have to try for yourself."

A partner video has multiple applications, noted Dr. Livingston. It can be posted on a company's website, used as blog content, as a video newsletter or even as a flash drive business card to be handed out to prospects and customers.

If you're considering creating a video for your website, here are some tips to keep in mind to ensure maximum impact:

1. Make sure your "partner" is seriously intrigued by what you sell and likes you and your product or service. If the interviewer isn't sincerely interested, the interview will come off as phony.

2. Practice your interview ahead of time. It doesn't have to be a complete run-through, but discuss all the questions and possible responses. Taking too much time to think about a response during filming can interrupt the flow and distract the viewer.

3. Be prepared to throw away the first 10 minutes of the interview, as it takes a little time for people to warm up.

4. Remember what got you excited about your product initially, and convey that with authentic enthusiasm.

5. Always keep in mind the "what's in it for me?" question every viewer will have. Make it about benefiting them, not promoting you.

6. Find an excellent editor who can piece the footage together and add simple special effects such as music, to give the video a more professional feel.

7. Incorporate humor wherever possible. This breaks the tension and keeps the viewer entertained.
AMHERST, N.H., June 11 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- High school basketball took hold of one small town - Peerless, Montana - and author, Joe Puckett, recounts the story in "The Dream: The Story of the 1978 and 1979 Peerless Panthers" (ISBN: 978-0-9845494-0-5), a new book published by Aubade Publishing.

In the team's 45-year history, it was the players from 1978 and 1979 that first qualified for the State Class C basketball tournament in Montana.

The story details 1957-1980 when the State Class C Montana basketball tournament was played in Helena. It also outlines the passing of the District 1-C basketball conference - once the most powerful Class C basketball conference in Montana - which today no longer exists.

Puckett recounts sharing a dream with his father, George "Tiny" Puckett; his twin brother, Jon; and childhood teammates to someday play in and win this State C basketball tournament for the town of Peerless.

The story begins in 1932, when Puckett's grandfather, Forgey Reese Puckett, founded Peerless High School and ends with its closing in June 2009. Throughout its pages are numerous black and white photos that help to bring the story to life.

Mostly, this book is about dreams, rivalries, triumph, disappointment, passion and a love shared by a group of boys who never gave up striving for the one thing in their life that mattered most - playing in the State Class C basketball tournament.

Largely based on the author's memories, events that occurred more than 30 years ago are pieced together with the help of a scrapbook that was meticulously maintained by Puckett's mother, Faustine.

With many small schools in Montana either closing or being forced to combine with other schools, mostly attributed to the difficulty of the small rancher or farmer to make a living, it was this fact that served as the catalyst for Puckett to write this book - to preserve the memory of the Peerless community.

Laced with humor, small-town intrigue and anecdotes, most readers will find something to identify with in "The Dream." It reveals just how closely one small town's identity and social life are connected to high school basketball.

As a way of commemorating the fine Peerless Panther basketball tradition, former Panther players are gathering for an alumni tournament on June 25 and 26 in Scobey, Montana. Panther teammates from the 1960s through the 1990s will play a game to salute the memory of Peerless High School.

About the Author:
Joe Puckett is a former Peerless High School and Montana Tech student athlete. By his own admission, he says that this book is "unabashedly and shamelessly nostalgic." In "The Dream," he eloquently relays how simple life was growing up in the small town of Peerless in the 1960s and 70s. He currently works for the Department of Defense in Stuttgart, Germany, where he lives with his family.

Industry analysts report that almost 40 percent of PCs purchased worldwide are used in the home serving double duty as a business computer and personal family use. QED's new system facilitates parental supervision of the Internet, paramount for parents of young children, who will be better able to filter and block inappropriate web sites from access by children, set and monitor time spent on computers, and prevent harmful viruses - all in one product designed to operate on up to three separate machines. This new product offering will be available the 3rd quarter of this year at a very affordable user price.

While the Company's sales continue to be adversely affected by the current economic conditions, QED's management believes that with the successful introduction of its new products and its expanded channel program to now include online sales to retail and home users, the Company is positioned to achieve its revenue projections.
LONDONDERRY, N.H., and SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 13 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Excited about baseball season, but still longing for your football fix? Mark your calendar for May 2nd and 3rd as Flag Football Magazine, aka FlagMag.com, brings their 10th annual World Cup of Flag Football to sunny, San Diego, California.

For the past decade flag football teams from around the world, including Austria, Venezuela, and Japan, have gathered to determine ultimate bragging rights on the gridiron. Last year's Costa Rica event saw Team USA overcome a 0-3 start to ultimately defeat Team Mexico in the men's title game.

This year's event is open to all players with men, women, youth, and co-ed divisions available. Initial seeding is based on regional qualifying tournaments; however qualifying for an event is not a requirement to participate. All teams will be appropriately seeded in the final Sunday tournament based on seeding rounds Friday and Saturday (to accommodate local teams with previous league commitments, teams can select their preferred day to play). Individuals are encouraged to participate as well and will be place on a team with other individuals.

Team fees are $445 for 7/8-Man and $245 for 4/5-Man. Plus, as event organizer, FlagMag has created some wonderful event packages for players, including lodging, parties and, of course, the tournament. Affordable hotel pricing starts at just $159 per person which includes the required $75 players pass for the tournament. Additional package details and registration information can be found on the FlagMag.com web site under Tournaments.

About Flag Football Magazine

FlagMag.com was created in 1998 as an online resource for flag football players around the globe to obtain up-to-date information on tournaments, events and leagues. FlagMag.com was originally launched in support of a quarterly magazine sent to players in the USA as well as affiliates in Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe, however as the business evolved the magazine went on hiatus.

In 2009 FlagMag.com was redesigned to take better advantage of the current online social media landscape. Players now have the ability to build personal profiles and interact with other flag football enthusiasts online. FlagMag.com also serves as an online retailer of flag football products such as flags, ball markers, rule books, play books, cones, and official FlagMag.com athletic apparel.
MANCHESTER, N.H., April 13 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- QED Connect, Inc. (OTC: QEDN / QEDN.pk), an innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider for the information security market, today announced it will introduce an Educational Program with a special price structure to support those partners who sell into the education sector, making it easier for education organizations to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act 2000 (CIPA).

CIPA addresses concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers. CIPA imposes requirements including internet safety policies and technology protection measures, Internet blocking and filtering for all computers accessed by minors on any school or library that receives funding support for Internet access or internal connections from the "E-rate" program.

While the Company continues to be adversely affected by the current economic conditions which have impacted adversely almost all companies in its sector, QED Management believes that this program will expand the Company's market share by enhancing its portfolio of partner friendly products. Continued slowdowns could adversely affect the Company's ability to increase revenues. The program will be available this summer to support the fall semester.
NASHUA, N.H., April 3 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- QED Connect, Inc. (OTC: QEDN / QEDN.pk), an innovative software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider for the information security market, today announced the introduction of Omni Lite, a partner focused version of their 2008 award winning SaaS application. In addition to providing SaaS applications, the MSP's, ISP's and Telco's will be able to leverage their own brand to increase sales to their existing subscribers.

Tom Makmann, President of QED explained that each Internet provider has their own corporate identity and theme and managing it across a variety of 3rd-party products can be a concern. The Omni Lite product line has branding support built in which simplifies the time and reduces the complexity of integrating the application into their network.

The SaaS market is expected to grow to more than $19 billion by 2011 and QED recognizes the importance of the MSP's, ISP's, and Telco's as a key conduit in servicing this marketplace.

Due to the overall business climate that is affecting all companies, QED's sales have been flat for the prior six months. With the introduction of the new Omni Lite the company expects to see significant growth through the balance of 2009. The Omni Lite product will be available in the 2nd quarter.
