TAMPA, Fla., July 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Telovations, a leader in delivering hosted business voice services, was named the 10th fastest growing company in Tampa Bay by the Tampa Bay Business Journal at its annual Fast 50 awards luncheon. Telovations increased revenues 265 percent over the past two years, earning it the No. 10 ranking on the business publication's Fast 50 List.

Telovations provides hosted PBX phone service over a private network to hundreds of businesses throughout the United States. Telovations CEO Mark Swanson credits the impressive revenue growth to the company's innovative business-transforming technologies, talented employees and excellent customer service.

"In this new economy, most business owners aren't excited about spending tens of thousands of dollars on a new phone system, but they know that it plays an important role in their ability to operate effectively," explains Swanson. "Our flexible, pay-as-you-go model allows businesses to adopt the latest communications technology without any upfront capital expense. Telovations enables companies to future-proof their businesses while decreasing overall costs."

Telovations' "Communication-as-a-Service" approach, which is employed by seven other "Fast 50" firms, bundles hardware, software, telephone lines, fax service, Internet, audio and Web conferencing and unified communications.

"More firms are starting to embrace this new concept because it offers unprecedented flexibility and substantial cost savings, which boost the bottom line. In today's economy, successful firms can't afford not to align expenses with revenues," says Swanson.

Telovations was also recently honored with the prestigious St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce 2010 Business of the Year Award for the company's staying power, innovativeness, response to adversity and contributions to the local community. The company is on the fast-track to becoming a trusted supporter and contributor to businesses in both the Tampa Bay region as well as the entire state.
Proposals include projects in biotechnology, information technology, telecommunications, sensor technology, weather science and energy.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., July 20 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Economic Development Generating Excellence Policy Board announced that 12 pre-proposal applications from an initial field of 62 have been approved to advance to the next step in the 2010 funding evaluation process. This year represents the third round of funding disbursement from the EDGE fund; in 2009, five awards were granted totaling $7.5 million. This year, around $6.5 million will be available for award distribution.

The 12 applicants are being asked to submit full proposals, due Sept. 1, 2010. This year's proposals include projects in biotechnology, information technology/telecommunications, sensor technology, weather science and energy, with several projects overlapping into multiple categories.

"Members of the EDGE Policy Board were very pleased with the high quality of this year's proposals. Each year's submissions have grown in significance and merit, and there were many excellent proposals among those who didn't advance," said Paul Risser, executive director of the EDGE Policy Board.

"With fewer dollars available from the EDGE endowment this year, the competition will be even more intense among the final few projects selected for funding. We can't overlook the need to grow the EDGE Endowment Fund to its full $1 billion total; at that level, we will be able to support many more of the top-tier projects that are going unfunded. Obviously the more innovation and technology EDGE can fund, the more businesses and jobs and wealth we'll be able to create for Oklahoma."

For the 2010 funding process, the following principal investigators have been invited to submit full proposals:

Biotechnology:
* Robert Floyd (Otologic Pharmaceutics) - Preclinical investigation of HPN-07 and NAC for the prevention and treatment of acute noise induced hearing loss
* William Hildebrand (Pure Protein, LLC) - Pure Protein, L.L.C.: EDGE-Enabled Expansion of Protein-Based Transplantation Products
* James Long (VADovations, Inc) - Development of a miniature blood pump
* Anne Perira (Biolytx Pharmaceuticals Corporation) - New drugs for Bad Bugs
* Donald Smith (Smith Algae BioFeeds and BioFuels) - Smith Algae BioFeeds and BioFuels: A Commercial Demonstration of CO2 to Algae as Cattle Feed for Heart Healthy Beef.

Energy:
* C. Drew Tait (Triarii Scientific LLC) - The Electromechanical Battery: A Disruptive Advance Technology that Changes the Energy Paradigm.

Information Technology/ Telecommunications:
* Max Doleh (Sigma Blood Systems, LLC) - Development of Integrated Blood Processing Solutions for Blood Centers
* D. Noah Roberts (Docvia LLC) - Oklahoma Emergency Health Registry Consortium.

Sensor Technology:
* Allen Apblett (Oklahoma State University) - Commercialization of Improvised Explosive Sensing Technology
* Nicholas Materer (SensorCor) - Commercialization of Passive Wireless Corrosion Sensors
* Jeff Wilson (Contineo Robotics) - Robotic Sensor Systems.

Weather Science:
* Allyson Turnbull (Enterprise Electronics Corporation) - Development, Manufacturing, and Support of Low Cost Doppler Weather Radars in Oklahoma.

The number and size of awards will be determined by the EDGE Policy Board which is chaired by Gary W. Derrick and consists of Thomas Kupiec Ph.D., Ken Levit, Gregory McKenzie, Bond Payne, and Stephen Prescott, M.D. The EDGE Endowment Fund is managed by a legislatively-mandated Board of Investors which certifies the amount of funds available each year to the EDGE Policy Board, which in turn, determines how the money will be allocated.

Established by Governor Henry in 2004, the mission of EDGE is to bolster Oklahoma's long-term economic growth by investing the earnings from the EDGE endowment in the state's knowledge infrastructure. EDGE investments are specifically directed toward Oklahoma-based projects that have the potential to expand the number of researchers, technicians, support services and related activity within the state; increase the formation and growth of advanced technology companies; leverage additional funding through federal research grants or private investment; and improve the health and quality of life for Oklahoma.
BOONTON, N.J., June 28 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Over the next five years, US Hispanic communities will spend $257 billion on telecommunications services, accounting for 17 percent of all residential telecom expenditures, according to a new market research study from The Insight Research Corporation. Early analysis of Census 2010 data suggests that Hispanics will surpass the 50 million mark and that they will command over $1 trillion in buying power. Hispanics are the youngest race/ethnicity segment and, more importantly, have the largest percentage of people under the age of 18, a market demographic that the study says will be crucial to the survival of telecommunications providers over the next five years.

Insight Research's market analysis study, "US Hispanic Use of Telecommunications Services 2010-2015," takes a close look at the purchasing habits and telecommunications usage patterns of the Hispanic segment of the US population, as well as other ethnic communities in the US. The study emphasizes that the US Latino market tends to over-index in mobile content and also notes that US Hispanics are accessing the Internet through more and varied devices than non-Hispanics.

"If the future of mobile carriers depends on their getting consumers to buy their data plans, then the US Hispanic community is right in the sweet spot, and will be receiving increasing attention from both wireline and wireless carriers' marketing departments," says Robert Rosenberg, Insight Research.

"Our study demonstrates that Hispanics are one of the most social groups online, and given the youth-orientated demographic of the US Hispanic community, they become a prime target for the newer 3G and 4G cellular services," Rosenberg concluded.

"US Hispanic Use of Telecommunication Services 2010-2015" examines spending and usage patterns of US Hispanics for wireline, cellular, and pre-paid cellular services, and compares these spending patterns to those of the general population as well as other minority segments, including Asian-Americans and African-Americans.
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., June 15 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- TTI, the leader in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) software solutions (WinBill®), and Enterprise Call Accounting and CDR reporting software solutions (WinCall®), is pleased to announce three new client partnerships in the past 60 days. All three companies are leaders in their industry and have chosen to answer their organization's TEM needs with TTI's WinBill® Telecom Inventory and Expense Management Software solution.

One of the world's largest publicly traded bio-technology firms headquartered in Northern California has contracted with TeleManagement Technologies to purchase the WinBill® licensed solution to better manage and control telecom and IT related expenses and inventory. As part of the solution, TTI's Professional Service team will provide industry Best Practices as it relates to process flow of telecom invoices, help in managing telecom vendor contracts, as well as audit, optimization and recovery services.

TTI has also been selected for a major WinBill® outsourcing contract with a New York Stock Exchange traded Financial Management and related financial products software provider located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Under the agreement, TTI will host and manage WinBill® on behalf of our client, who is outsourcing the telecom expense process including landline, data, wireless mobile management (WMM), monthly audit and recovery services, wireless procurement and provisioning, and wireless help desk.

"TTI is very excited to grow our outsourcing client base." said Charles Coakley, Vice President of Sales for TTI. "TTI has always been known as a leader in the TEM licensed space, but many don't realize we can provide even more value, expertise and results for clients who choose an outsourced solution."

Finally, a New Jersey Advertising and Marketing company has selected both WinBill® TEM and WinCall® Call Accounting licensed solutions for their TEM and CDR reporting needs. The client has upgraded to the Avaya VoIP PBX platform and chosen WinCall® CDR Call Accounting. As a marketing and advertising company, the firm has very specific client tracking and bill-back needs. WinCall fits this unique need to track all calls made on behalf of a specific client(s) or project(s) and provide detailed reporting and the ability to generate client invoices, along with WinCall's other powerful features.

After 23 years as a Telecom Expense Management and Call Accounting solutions leader, TTI is pleased to continue to provide value in the TEM marketplace for our clients and expand the focus on our Professional Services and outsourcing offerings. As businesses look to recover from the tough economic climate over the last 18 months, TTI is seeing an increase in outsourcing requests from new and existing clients as efficiency, scalability and deploying new workforce business models take center stage.
BOONTON, N.J., June 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- US enterprises and consumers are expected to spend more than $37 billion over the next five years on Ethernet services provided by carriers, according to a new market research study from The Insight Research Corporation. With metro-area and wide-area Ethernet services readily available from virtually all major data service providers, the market is expected to grow at a compounded rate of almost 25 percent, increasing from $3.1 billion in 2010 to reach nearly $9.7 billion by 2015.

According to Insight Research's market analysis study, "Carriers and Ethernet Services: Public Ethernet in Metro & Wide Area Networks, 2010-2015," the economic recession that emerged in late 2008 has not dampened US enterprises appetite for Ethernet service. Insight is projecting the surge in demand will peak by 2011 as the economy improves Ethernet revenue growth rates hit 29 percent on a compounded annual basis.

Ethernet services are marketed under various names: transparent or native LAN, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, GigE, metro Ethernet, Ethernet private line, Ethernet virtual private line, Layer 2 virtual private network, Ethernet access, and virtual private LAN service.

"The momentum behind retail sales of Ethernet services to the enterprise is being driven by the customer's steadily increasing demand for data bandwidth and Ethernet's real cost advantages in terms of providing flexible bandwidth and scalability that is superior to many competitive services," says Robert Rosenberg, president of Insight Research.

"The driving force behind wholesale Ethernet sales is improved interoperability among carriers, greater confidence in emerging and recently adopted standards, as well as shifts by more carriers to a more wholesale-friendly posture," Rosenberg concluded.

"Carriers and Ethernet Services: Public Ethernet in Metro & Wide Area Networks, 2010-2015" examines carrier Ethernet market spending and usage patterns by topology (E-line, E-LAN, and access), regional domain (metro, wide-area, and access), retail/wholesale, and various bandwidth levels.
BOONTON, N.J., March 22 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Capital expenditures (CAPEX) by telecommunications service providers globally is expected to increase at a compounded rate of 2.4 percent, from $199.6 billion in 2010 to $224.5 billion in 2015, says a new market analysis report from The Insight Research Corporation. According to the new market study, CAPEX in the various global regions will be very uneven with major sectors slowing or declining.

However, the global spending picture is expected to remain positive as continued strong demand for mobile services in developing countries offsets the lag in spending in developed countries.

"Telecommunications and Capital Investments 2010-2015: Looking Beyond the Financial Crisis" notes that CAPEX spending among fixed-line operators will continue to decline, but mobile operators in developing countries will continue increasing their capital outlays to meet the pent up demand for service. On the other hand, when mobile operator CAPEX spending in the developed countries does rebound, it will be sluggish.

"It was no surprise when our analysis showed that operator CAPEX in the US and the 27-member EU states dropped sharply in 2009, but somewhat less obvious is that while spending in these regions will subsequently recover, they will not recover to 2008 levels over our forecast period," says Insight's president Robert Rosenberg.

"The recovery of operator post-2009 CAPEX spending cannot mask the secular trend of declining investments in developed countries. This is the result of principally three factors: completion of broadband rollout programs; mobile sector saturation and technology uncertainty; and operator margin pressure due to competition and the absence of a compelling service value proposition," Rosenberg concluded.

Capital spending forecasts are provided for the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, and India. On a per country basis, CAPEX spending is provided for fixed lines, mobile, broadband, and video/IPTV services. Forecasts are also provided for CAPEX allocation by equipment types including Carrier Ethernet, Metro Ethernet, SONET/SDHD, WDM, optical equipment, CO Switching, and long haul network gear.
BOONTON, N.J., March 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Despite slowdowns and spending cuts in many industries, overall spending by all U.S. businesses on wired and cellular calling is forecasted to exhibit modest growth over the next five years, says a new market research report from Insight Research. The study predicts that cellular calling will account for nearly 44 percent of the U.S. corporate phone bill for telecommunication services in 2010, and is the only enterprise market segment showing substantial growth.

Insight's newly released market analysis report, "Telecom Services in Vertical Markets, 2009-2014" reveals that wireless service revenues are expected to grow at a compounded rate of nearly 18.4 percent annually from 2009 to 2014, while growth in wired services remains essentially flat. The biggest spenders on cellular services will come from four market segments: construction; financial, insurance, and real estate; professional business services; and transportation.

The study analyzes 14 vertical industries categorized by the NAICS, and focuses on corporate spending for wireline and wireless telecommunications services in each of the 14 industries.

"The year 2009 was all about cut backs and retrenchment in every industry sector we examined," says Robert Rosenberg, President of Insight.

"However, it is continued demand for wireless services that will keep the telecom industry in the black over the next five years-and that demand is going to be uneven across the various business sectors," Rosenberg concludes.
