According to the organization: “But the pain is evident, we love our ferrets and we want to be able to move freely about with them.” is conducting an Environmental Impact Report as required from the California Department of Fish and Game. Ferrets are illegal in only two states, California and Hawaii. The ban has caused a huge emotional toll on ferret owners in California and ferret owners who find themselves moving to the state.

According to PIJAC, the nation’s leading pet trade organization, California has the nation’s largest population of pet domestic ferrets – yet California has resisted efforts to legalize them.
